It's pretty easy to get the wrong parts by mistake .I once thought I had a Ford 292 and it turned out to be a 272 V8 engine .A fact I didn't take into consideration at the time .So some place hiding in my shop on a shelf is a brand new set of 292 Ford piston rings.

:lol: Sometimes I'd like to beat the piss out of them but so far I've held my temper .I have had a few of my own though I just had to walk away from until I cleared my head .It can get to be frustrating I must admit .

I didn't watch it untill the end .It was around 100 early on but by the time I got off work so I could bid it was over 250. I didn't bid so I couldn't check after the fact
I had my eye on a cherry looking 064 on fleabay .At the last 5 minutes or so they jumped on it before I could get a bid in .No big deal but on the cheap I'd have had it in a heart beat .
Sounds hard to believe but I've had saws have the screen in the carbs get plugged from tiny fibers of wood that got by the filters .The only thing I came up with is somehow over a long period of time they got into the tank through the tank vent .
None the less plugged filter carb or whatever...
Well once you get it started the pressure changes within the crankcase and the diaphragm relies on crankcase pressure .Once you loose pressure the diaphragm collapses down on the fuel lever and tries the fill the crankcase full of fuel .Which of course it can't .Just enough to drown the plug and...
About 90 percent of the time it's a funky carb .Dang ethanol fuel puckers the diaphragms and they just don't do right .They either won't suck fuel or they fail open and flood .
Fact just tonight I took in an 024 Stihl that has a bad carb and floods .I got the SOB started after much effort but...
