    most likely, with a big saw, when a person would hit their lanyard, they'd be buried in the cut, so the saw is more likely to become a grab handle that falling object, in my estimation.

    Let me rephrase that, how much extra weight for the winder, on top of the lanyard weight. Is there a stopper knot inside? If you were to be descending too quickly on your lanyard, is it possible to pop the end loose, and pull the end through the hitch?
