I can honestly say that I could have benefitted by having a RK on a particular walnut that ate two throw bags and lines. So much epi growth, a machete would have been welcome on the saddle for entry.
I prefer my method of recycling my throw bags. If it looks like it is going to split out... Just give it to a reloader of ammo in trade for some special ammo I want made.
I recently even purchased about 75 lbs of lead fishing weights and should be seeing some 400 and 500 grain 45-70 in the near...
Yeah, I felt it unnecessary as well and pretty much stuck with one bight. Why I did not post it before. I did find I could lengthen the fist bight as much as the long gun thingy and then cradle throw it fine this way..
Simple is often better ...
Hill Billy Long Gun.....
Same as cradle with an extra loop/bight.....
Just adjust the first loop for length of the gun... Still configs to cradle and line loops/bights pull out in flight. One less step of set up and line ready once thrown.
How's it going Joel?
OBTW... I threw in a few cards for ya'll.. :)
Still trying to wrap my head around why I was more accurate one handed with it than a throw weight.
Cradle throw was about the same.... Angle of the dangle I guess.
News flash... Was talking to Burnam about the "European" throw weight... called a Meteor.. Saw it in a vid once. They sell then in the UK. I am going to see if I can a) order one or b) have a bloke send it to me after I send money. They now make 16oz ;)
I like the Hill Billy thing ;)
that's where I have a cost issue Thomas. I am thinking how much I really spend.. Not all that much. My weights rarely get stuck, I don't break lines for the most part (one in maybe 6 years?) and I don't have the side walks that break bags like most these guys do...
I thought it was Joel (Riskybiz) sorry. I went ahead and sent it to him next .... Wish I had known sooner.
Joel... It's on it's way... but ...... I had to give the batteries back though.....
Really don't need any credit with this. Thanks for the opportunity to give it a whirl. Always like to try something new or different.
Only thing I would do for the cradle throw on the devise mfg, taper the hole better and make it a smidgeon larger. Not too much that it would weaken the eye....
Actually, no... it's about as bad on new line as well... Just had not got around to cutting the fuzzy bits off. And when I test something, I like to incorporate other situations into the equation... Like fuzzy bits you would normally cut off... ;)
So... pros...
It does what is claimed. Runs through canopy (and I tried some tough canopy) like silk. I was actually a tad amazed at how well it would slide through and come to the ground. Then pulled back through. On our conifers, I usually have to throw no less than 16oz and often the 20 oz...
Yup... got to play with it some more and you have a review coming. Never did get any video though. Hard pressed to get anyone around here to help me with that.
I am going to take some pictures once my fever goes down a bit. I was finally able to get accurate with it.
