This has turned into a great thread because many points of view have been expressed. The main question un answered here is ... does this testing help the poor employer just trying to engage good help? ... or is there a better way?
I agree Al, the first George Bush took a page right from Mcarthy's book with the drug free workplace laws...there were already plenty laws. Test companies love the easy revenue (even with slipshod accuracy) ... big bucks when , say the US Navy tests the entire crew of an aircraft carrier,
Still something inherently unfair with testing...a pot smoker who did"t smoke before work, probably fail. Whereas the drinker who drank enough the night before to be a complete lethargic hung over mess, probably pass.
