    Tree work thoughts

I've gained access with a plastic felling wedge and heavy duty coat hanger. The wire is 3/16'' thick. It can pull or push. Buttons are no problemo. I've even rolled down a manual crank window. One of my trucks has a loose 4 wheel drive, manual shifter boot. With the keys in the ignition, off...

    Everyday working man.

I have a 2100. i didn't recognize the one in Norm's pic, for mine is missing its filter cover. In it's place is a velocity stack with a BHAF. Saw has be heavily moded including finger ports. I don't classify this Husky as a work saw. I haven't raced it yet. Ran it for a minute or two to hear it...

    Masterblaster aka Butch Ballowe III

I joined here a bit ago when invited by another member. Butch welcomed me in intros right out of the gate. I never spent much time here. From all the posts, it seems I have missed knowing a remarkable man and then some. RIP

What's Your Favorite Saw You Own?

I have a decent arsenal of Stihls. 066, 440 mag, 036, 029, 460, 261c, 201tc, and a 200. Love them all ....... surprisingly I am not brand biased. I do have an old Echo top handled back up, a 193 top handle, and even an old eager beaver top handler with manual oiler. I love my Stihls. Wouldn't...

    Cable core lanyard stopper knot?

Cut back a bit of the cover. Slide on a piece of shrink tubing and set it out of the way. Form a tight eye with the wire core. Tack weld in place then put the shrink on it. That is if you have access to a welder. Oh, and be sure to lightly grind the surface so your welds will "stick."

Thoughts on this Bandit chipper for sale???

Sean those older Morbarks don't have the shaft issues like some of the newer models. Models 17 and 13 are worth the look.

The official "Welcome New Members" thread!

Hello everyone! I've already met some of you but Sean directed me hear to formerly introduce myself. I've been climbing since '01-'02. Before that, (and still do), I've been roofing since '91. Spent 5 yrs before that turning wrenches at a couple of auto shops, one of which was a speed shop for...

    Distel question

Is that Hi-Vee rope with a sharpie treatment? Switch the micro pulleys ..... killer colors that way.

    Distel question

It's funny how some hitches and cords work right off the rip, some need the break in, and some need tuning. Some one could right a book on this alone.

    Is Door Knocking Professional?

Back when I was in my early thirties, I knocked for snow removal on roof tops. We had had two back to back storms piling 40 some inches in less than a week. My friend and I went out in my truck with a pair of ladders and shovels. I did all the knocking. Most people were happy to have the service...

What is a Good Way to Attach a Pull Line to a Trailer Hitch on a Pickup Truck?

Hi Sean, I recognize a couple of buzzers here. Butch, the coal connection is just the gear head in me. I'm a true car fag. I have an old 96 f350 that I've been wanting to stuff a stroked cummins in. 449 designates the cubic inch. It's just a sitting project currently. I'll fill out my profile...
