    ISA

My gripe will be similiar as many others in the the CA is far too easy of an exam and they are then sold as experts. TRAQ was a joke, I scored 100% but felt physics and mycology was basically glossed over during lectures and the exams. I'm municipal now so it is required but only a few...

    Oak borers/beetles?

Sounds like you have bark beetles though pics would help. Most prefer stressed to dying trees so perhaps investigate site and local conditions first before exploring treatment options. Spraying a bark beetle rate of a pyrethroids all over hell and tarnation is no ones idea of a good time.

    Benchmark Species

Oaks are the standard here as well. Mighty old alba but robur are impressive too. Only old sycamores come close to the oaks for longevity here.

    QTRA course...

Yep Tim, it's ""Tree Risk Assesment Manual" 2nd Edition. I've been ruminating on the original post where numerical odds were given based on a potential failure. If this was a Qualitative system, rather than a mind bogglingly diffucult and advanced Quantitative system utilizing advanced physics...

Speaking engagements - who else does them and what works for you?

I teach Arbo. and PHC at Columbus State and have given some talks for gardening clubs and the Master Gardeners program. Extra dough is nice but far more time goes into developing PPTs and lectures when teaching part-time than it's really worth. Hands on type stuff is great for many folks as...

    QTRA course...

Thats the common complaint, my own as well. Fair amount of dough to learn how to fill in a form and use their matrices. Good book to own as a resource though.
