    How'd it go today?

I agree on doubling up on the toprope Sean. I've been thinking a lot about the best way to do that without having to tend either system by hand. Shunt? I've got one of the Petzl chest ascenders that I'd like to try with a weighted line, but not sure about a secondary. I guess I could tend...

    How'd it go today?

Runs great, really soft catch. Boot's are the Drayer Tango II's from Wesspur. They're kind of like approach shoes, but they've held up really well, and are good on hooks. Had them a couple years now.

Nice breeze off the lake this afternoon.

    How'd it go today?

I've never done any gym climbing. Little bit of rock, but never any ice. Seems like some of the skills will transfer, but I'm really looking forward to learning a new way to climb on a different kind of spikes. :)

    How'd it go today?

I'm going to teach myself to ice climb this winter. The area I'm in is famous for it, and I've always wanted to give it a shot. Figure I can top rope myself out of just about anything while learning, so why not. 8)

    How'd it go today?

Me too Bermy, I think it feels very secure. It wasn't a big change from the Wrench actually. The Akimbo has a smaller sweet spot in the engagement vs a hitch. Smaller, but it's there. One handing took some getting used to. Haha

    Hitch Hiker X

Crazy it bent the quickie. . . I wonder about the aluminum and the steel interacting. One thing I like about the 1st and 2nd gen HH is the steel side plates. It looks nice.

New to me, not new :)

Those things are great! We've been running one clearing trails up here for years and years. The guys had it out yesterday in fact. Amazing what they'll take care of for you. Just as a caution, don't 'fight' the machine, just kind of help steer it. They'll tear up your back if you're trying...

I hear that. I could have backed a trailer into his tiny single car drive, parked across the street, and wrestled everything out. . . But I really didn't want to. lol Lot easier for the guys with a mini and a grapple truck. It was far away from my home territory, really a job I could pass...

Couple of storm damaged poplars that I looked at a few weeks ago. There was literally no access, nowhere to park, busy city street. I told the guy I'd get them down for him but I wasn't able to effect the cleanup. He passed, and I gave him a couple numbers for the other local big-iron tree...

Nice one. No one in the UP has pools. . . like no one. haha Trimmed and deadwooded a number of lakeside trees, three oaks and a stately White Pine. No cleanup, perfect night.

I agree Sean. I told them I'd prune all the dead stuff and it would look really nice. . . that they could put solar Christmas lights on it in the winter. .. It's one of the old MCRS saddles Cory. I just changed the bridge out this spring. Using that swivel leaves aluminum oxide on the cover...

Second trip to improve the view. Much slave chipping as the property is to be sold. I had to use the live stuff from up front to "mop" all the garbage they'd pulled out of the wood through. . . homeowners know nothing about stacking brush for the chipper. I tired to save this little...
