Another apparently severe threat to hardwood trees.

I've got 4 elms, isolated from others. I don't know where the closest elms are. Could easily be a mile or 5 away. My aunt/ uncle/ fam lived on Elmwood Av, with big spreading elms in Chicago. They went out when I was a kid.

    Firewood

I like the rolling scaffold idea. It would allow you to take them down in small pieces. Slide material down a ramp from scaffold to plywood on the ground. I wonder about fronds as the cushion between plywood layers as an armored crash pad. Have replacement materials on hand and a quality tile...

At the O'hare airport to fly home. Been busy visiting/ helping my mom and brother since Monday. Lots knocked off the list, few hours of sleep. Tuesday night I stayed up all night working around their house. My Mom, 83, is weak after 2 falls, never recovering strength and stamina. My...

    The Joke/Funny Pic/Video Thread

Flushing without closing the lid seems undesirable to me. Some studies say viral loads on surfaces are unaffected. Idk about bacteria, a bigger problem, maybe.

Dedicated stump grinder vs skid steer with grinder attachment? Pros and Cons?

Not the whiskers of a felling hinge...I understand. We're you coming in from the side or top? Dull?

Some Japanese maples can be very short.

Have I mentioned I eat poison ivy?

Scrubbing is important, not just washing.

Dedicated stump grinder vs skid steer with grinder attachment? Pros and Cons?

Would this have to do with loose, unmaintained belts? Was it the hinge, coming from above or the side?

    Tree felling vids

I've heard them called Bear Traps. If a bear were to rub its back on one, it could dislodge the top.

Branch walking, how do you do it?

One must always anticipate a weak spot/ the weak spot fracturing, and how one would best avoid swinging at a spear.

A winch from an anchored truck to the heavy chip trick would help.

saws with mind of their own

I think (cleanly) dumping the mix back into the fuel can and refilling with cooler mix would be more practical.
