    Electric Spider lifts?

MLE lifts have all electric lifts and are certainly not a low budget lift but are mainly used in building maintenance. I think MLE was bought out and has a new name. I was first introduced to them by one of their engineers who was a firewood customer.

    Electric Spider lifts?

I’ve rented electric Genie lifts in the past and I’m glad that was the past. Maybe battery technology has improved but it would not be a consideration for me unless it has an engine. My lift has three drive systems diesel engine as the primary operation, battery as the backup, and manual for...

    How'd it go today?

Luckily I didn't need to redo the stringers but who ever built the stairs in the first place use nails and they were rotting away loosing their grip on the treads. I replace all 19 treads using nice ceramic coated screws.

Wildlife reintroduction in PNW , Grizzly Bear ... really ?

I remember a guy by the name of Timothy Treadwell who thought bears were cute and friendly. It didn't end well for him. Personally I think the reintroduction of large predators is a bad idea. One can argue the benefit to nature but humans are a dumb species and will run into brown bears and...

    Tree felling vids

I had one last week kinda like that but I wasn’t close to it. It was a dead ash leaning over a garage and heavy head lean towards power lines. Not a big tree by any means (14” at the stump) and we had near ideal pull angles. Set some tension on the pull line to hold the tree, faced it up, made...

    Logging Choker cables

I don’t think that is what Sean is talking about. So say a turn is coming in and run up against a stump and an easy way to get the log to free up is to rechoke the log and put a roll on it as the winch line comes tight. I don’t know if there is a name for that but that is how I read Sean’s post.
