    Electric Spider lifts?

A friend has a JLG all electric lift. Only one I've seen. Seems to work well. It's pretty old.

    How'd it go today?

I got the Anderson plug installed on the mill this evening. Jumping a Wood-Mizer is a real pita. Not anymore. I think I need to experiment with the different dies for the crimper. They sort of squeeze the edges of the lug out, and make an eccentric hexagon. Otherwise, very happy with everything...

    How'd it go today?

The crimper does 1/8" cable up to 600 mcm, so definitely does 2/0. Temco is apparently the legit brand for these things, but the Amazon ones are half the money, and work just fine. You coukd probably find a 6 or 8 ton for $50 to $70 that would work well. Mine is a 16 ton, and overkill for my needs.

    How'd it go today?

I've mowed three times in a year with a 7' field mower.

    How'd it go today?

I did the lawn mowing thing last night for the first time. It's sort of a feel good thing that serves no other purpose than to make you look somewhat neighborly.

    How'd it go today?

I found an empty organizer under the bench. Not full on perfectionist rated, but it's keeping some of the ocd at bay.

    Logging Choker cables

There's a bunch of them hiding in there. "Nope, I'm going to hang on to that. Might want it some day" For a junk yard, they didn't sell very much.

    How'd it go today?

I have a bit of a battery cable obsession, which, as obsessions go, isn't the worst thing. I feel that there should only be one style of battery, the 31S, just in five different sizes. ATV, lawn and garden, automotive, truck, and large earthmover. I have been converting everything I own to...

    How'd it go today?

The old 66 ran very well today. I'm glad I brought it out of retirement. I'd like to find the proper plastic handled brake housing for it. I was given an old metal loop handle when I broke the original, which isn't as nice. It may not have great anti-vibe, and it might not have the greatest...

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods?

Looks like a wet week coming. I haven't looked at the hourly, sometimes it's not raining during good working hours, but you really need to wait until the day before to check.

    Logging Choker cables

Gratuitous rigging photos. Not me in the photos. I was in the machine rigging the chain lift.

    Logging Choker cables

1 1/4"? :whine: I used to rig big blocks of marble with 1". That was bad enough. Although not as bad as 3/4" chain. Pretty much had to set that in place with the machine.

    Mayer Tree

It depends on the operator. If they get cranky, they can f the ground crew over pretty hard, and there is no reason for it. Huge pics that don't fit in the drop zone. Pushing to set the next pic when the ground crew is understaffed. It's definitely the way to go, if the $$ is right, however.

    Mayer Tree

There are a ton of big dollar machines within 20 minutes of me. 4090, 4100, various boom trucks, Palfinger, Sennebogan, and Merlo.

    How'd it go today?

I need a saw that I can leave at the mill for occasional use, and the only real candidate was my old Husky 66, which has never let me down. I had a nearly new 20" bar, and found a decent chain. Ten pulls and it fired up. After at least ten years under the bench. It doesn't have the snap off idle...

    How'd it go today?

I haven't seen anything that jumps out at me. I think the one on the upper left was trimmed after the tree was felled.

More logs showed up today. Starting to look like a proper sawmill these days.

    O.C.G.D. Thread, part two

I wore it every day last summer. I didn't notice any issues with heat. It does have a sliding vent on the top. I think when it's really hot, you are just going to be miserable all over anyway.
