I clean the gullets of bar oil with a rag before I sharpen.

Funny how widespread the notion that you can't burn pine is. I don't burn much, but it doesn't scare me. Gonna be a bunch of dead Ash firewood on the market here. Probably depress the price for a bit. I don't sell much but I do burn a lot. Nothing like a wood stove to warm your old bones.

I drove by a tree cutting fiasco yesterday. Saw was stuck in the backcut. 4-wheeler hooked up with a short strap. I had to turn and go back. Save some injury and good humour to boot. So not only was the saw stuck but it had been stuck once before. Chain still hanging in tree and they had put in a new back cut. They did have a couple wedges in. Cuts were not bad. If the 4 wheeler had pulled it over it would have landed on the operator. I asked if they had any rope-just a clothes line. How about more straps. Yes went to get some and a ladder so they could tie it up higher. They had it tied to a 4 inch limb at about 5 feet. So they tie some straps together and hook it to a truck. I was going to suggest they now move the 4 wheeler but a least no operator on it. They do get it to come over and yeah 4 wheeler ends up under a bunch of small limbs. The head honcho says something about doing it safely. The other 2 guys were with me and shaking their heads. Guy gave me a pat on the back and thanks alot for stopping. Darwin almost in action.

I fell asleep at the compute screen a couple days ago. Woke up and wondered what time of day it was. First time for that.

Remember how stinky car, bus, truck exhaust used to be? Leaded gas. Having to slow down and move over when you met another car on a country road. Marble reflectors on road signs. Bumper cars that would actually get a good bump out of. $20z's. Concerts being so cool. Filling a car tank for $5 or putting a couple bucks up for gas.

I saw a kayak like that in Lake Ontario Sunday. He had been out fishing and had a nice headwind come up he had to fight hard to get back. Helped him load up-a lot heavier than a normal kayak. Chatted with him a bit. He is a chain saw carver from Long Island. Had not caught any fish though.

they could make a small bullseye that could mount on the bar studs. Tucked down in the recess even.

Yes. Hope so as well. I remember my friend in high school telling me about mowing through a ditch with a push mower. Somehow it got away from him and rolled back over his foot. Took the top of his sneaker off with no damage to his foot. Sobering even for me as a kid.

With the prices commanded on the used book it would certainly seem a reprinting would be in order. A revision would be great.

Here is one that says Stihl on its case. http://www.sawagain.com/stihl-ms-270-280-coil-11334001350-new-oem/ I read that they built variable timing into the coil on that model for easier starting. Seem to wear out after a few years.

Seems like there would be enough demand for another printing. Prices are crazy. My neighbor knows about self-publishing. Wonder if it is in the plans.

. What are you killing? What kind of spray do they allow in CommieLand? Europe in general is not too fond of Round up I think.

The wire going to the kill switch or the switch itself could be at fault.

The fuel line looks too close to the exhaust manifold. I think steel lines came stock. Probably safer.

I bought a Radiator Genie kit. One wand for air and one for garden hose. Works quite well. $30 or thereabouts I think.

Retarded timing can make it run hot. Know anyone who still has a timing light? Lean fuel mixture will also. Does it have good power? Do the plugs look right?

Got my cauliflower seeds in mail today. 250 purple 250 orange 1000 mid season 1000 main season (white). Don't think I will plant the whole 2500 this year. Bit too much. Doesn't need to go in for a month. Plant it in flats 120 cell. Put in field about 4th of July. Harvest usually starts in late September and into early November.
