Just got in from 3 sales calls. Sold all three, plus I got a phone call confirming a fourth I bid the other day. Almost a full week's worth of work on the books in 3 hours, I'm a happy camper.

I suspect that if 5-10 teachers per school were armed then there might not be any more mass school shootings. Everybody just assumes that if one metric changes then all the other metrics remain the same. People who do this type of thing target large bodies of helpless victims, the key word being helpless. You notice there is no such thing as a mass police station shooting or mass gun shop shooting?

That had to have been a sight Brian. Love stuff like that when working around nature. Snow day today. My client cancelled and I had another lined up for my guys, also cancelled. Temps dropped last night below 20*. So it snowed on tepid ground getting it wet, then covered it with snow and a sheet of ice formed under crusty snow. Accidents everywhere, sheriffs asking folks to stay home, school cancelled. Was able to leave our driveway about 10ish and go pick up baby goats at a lower elevation. Accident on one of the grades (roll over and trapped) caused us to take a long detour but I made a good decision. Road was only icy in the shady spots while the highway we were on was an ice sheet. More accidents that way happened while we drove the sunny side of the mountain on clear roads. Came back to better roads after 1 pm. And safe and sound baby goats.

Agreed, so risk mitigation. Train and prepare. Much easier to mitigate risk by just being trained and prepared. Enables you to recognise the risk and avoid it or mitigate. You are trained, your training probably gives you insight to trouble. Again, the risk is small. My kids are more at risk to a kidnapping than a shooting. SO we prepare and educate more to that. But my kids are also being trained in gun handling. In my eyes, there biggest risk with a firearm is an accidental shooting when at a friends etc.. If they know gun handling and safety, they have a better chance avoiding the risk or stopping the event. I wish I could afford martial arts as well. And they will never starve.

Had a productive week. Three easy jobs today, still done and home by 3. Yesterday's big removal paid cash, including $1200 in $10 bills. It will take me weeks to get rid of them all! And if that's the worst thing I have to deal with this week than I consider myself very lucky. Had a saw with a bad spark plug I fixed today. Made me think of the guy from Arboristsite many years ago who always said that he had never seen a spark plug go bad. Mike something, can't remember. Anyway, the electrode in this plug was broken and you could change the gap by turning the plug upside down and back again. Threw a new plug in and it runs perfect. Had a big fat red shouldered hawk sitting in the top of a tree I cut down today. Tree was 80' tall and from my setup I could only reach to about 50' up. So I had to throw a good size top and that bird stayed right there until the top came over, then she flew away.

If you can't stop terror, you defend against it. Metal detectors, locked steel doors, surveillance, guards. But evil will always find a work around. Hell, load up your van with some fert., park next to the barriers. My favorite was the flame thrower guy.....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cologne_school_massacre

Seen something like it at hotels in Mexico. I think they actually harvest the fronds there for the little cabana roofs on the beach. But they trimmed some like that around the hotel.

Jeez Peter, almost sounds like our year last winter. Washed out roads, bridges and parts of town. Less the ice flows.

Really cool Gary. I wish we had better places to fly kites here where we live. Too many trees and not much room for take offs. Not even at the park.

I bought this setup for my house and installed it after my water softener. Works great and I have gotten good life out of the replacement filters, but then I'm only one person in the house. They have a bigger unit with three filters as well. Very good company and high quality product. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LBHIW8S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&tag=pda0fc-20

No freaking out, just expressing an opinion. But I guess that isn't always welcomed here if it isn't in line with the 'in' crowd. I do not think any tree should be trimmed with hedge trimmers. I think it looks hideous. It has nothing to do with Russia and nothing to do with the effort put forth by the man holding the hedge trimmers. Just a terrible thing to do to a tree in my opinion. I guess I will have to refrain even further from expressing my opinions here. Seems my every thought rocks the boat and we can't have that.

Non the less. If your life line is not set, and you get an injury, how are you going to bail? What about a wasp or bee nest. Get stung to shit while setting your line to bail. Also, gaff out, and those little stubs impale you. No stubs. Hell on rope too.

It was that spot without the fence posts, wasn't it? Not laughing at you Jim. I was informed about a bent trailer axle today (well AFTER we left the shop with the mini IN the trailer) while at the fuel station. Just came to their minds I guess......

The old bar is cooked from the inexplicable, occasional oiler blockage. About half of the MS150s I have bought have experienced it and it is highly irritating. If you pull the bar off and hit the oiler outlet with an air nozzle it works instantly but you never know for how long. Rinsing the oil tank out with premix usually fixes it but it takes a week of running it to know if you fixed it or not.
