Deva, I should get a picture of the bollard on my Wraptor. I believe it is at least an 09 demo model. I believe I got to fly it at the WCGTG. Have to belay the rope now like adding weight to an SRT line. It will run up 9/16-5/8ths fine. It's on it's third clutch spring set and second set of clutches. 2nd fuel tank and clutch housing from a 60 foot fall. 2nd on off switch. 3rd set of fuel lines, filters and primer. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Nice score buddy.

I'm starting to use this site more. I have a couple free spots already but it's nice when I can get a spot near the job site. I just got off the phone with a guy who wants chips AND logs and he lives a half mile away from my oak removal job on Monday. He will take the whole tree, chips and logs. :boogie:

Had a dip in the chipper feed table floor just past the feed wheel and it created a lip where it met the frame. Brush was getting hung up so I took it to my welder who ran a few beads and built it up, then I ground it flat with a 4.5" grinder and flap wheel. Wow, what a difference! Did 5 oak removals on Thursday and Ron was running whole leads through it without a hiccup. We originally were going to weld in a new floor over top of the old floor but no need to go to such measures just yet. Friday after we hauled out the second load of logs from that job and watched the stumps get ground, I dumped the trailer and then took it to Ocala (60 miles away) to the manufacturer where I traded it in for the replacement they made me. It was sold to me as having 10 gauge steel sides but they were 12 gauge so they offered to build me a replacement. I offered to bring the old one back and pick up the new one since they were willing to do that to honor their warranty. The company owner and the guys working on final prep on my trailer were all very nice and got me squared away. Got the new trailer home and it's a lot sturdier than the other one. Haven't used it yet.

Holy cow I'm impressed! I thought all the normal people here had quit posting and had been replaced by TreeBuzz rejects! Oops, sorry if I said that out loud. For the most part I simply quit posting about my work because I don't want to hear the criticism from the safety police. Hell, what they did to Rico here should be against the law. I miss the old days of this forum when we could talk about real situations without getting scolded. I come here for fun, not to have some kid with a fraction of my experience tell me I'm unsafe.

I agree with Brendon. I spent a lot of money on a lot of gadgets that were cool as hell and didn't save me a single minute of time and didn't make my job any easier. But I had all the cool toys! I've gone full circle and back to just the basics these days. Of course I still have a ton of gear on the trucks and once in a while I might actually use some of it, but most of the time it just collects dust.

Hate what CA has become. Anyway. It is not just the immigrants. A lot of it is policy for aid. We still have a rash of folks that are homeless or just plain lost about everything and are under employed. Remember that bubble thingy not so many years ago when real estate crashed and people lost home on bad loans. Yeah, we are still feeling that here. Look up homeless in SF or LA. Plenty of news there. A lot of industry has fled the state as well since it is so expensive to have a business here.

Well, wouldn't you agree that California politicians encourage illegals (they aren't immigrants, immigrants enter legally) and pretty much all poor people to come feast on the best welfare programs in the country? If I had absolutely no desire to work for a living and wanted to live off the system then I'd look for the most generous free benefits I could find- and I'd move to California.

Yup! You have to visit to understand it. Or grow up around it or live there. Some of those streets are beyond steep. They laugh at 8% grades. I bet people blow equipment motors from oil starvation on some of them.

I think 1987 is when they went to fuel injection in the Ford trucks. My 1988 F150 was a fuel injected 302, second year of that technology and it couldn't pull a greasy string out of a cat's ass. It took a couple years for them to get the power back up to carbureted levels.

I don't like how the hydraulic cylinders are located on the top of the outriggers. Fine for window washers but a terrible design for tree work.

No, you cannot buy a major medical policy any more. At least not here. You can only buy health insurance policies that meet all of the Obamacare requirements. Which is exactly why most people in this country are in favor of repealing Obamacare. The ones in favor of keeping it haven't thought it all the way through yet.

So you say by undoing the mandate shots will get more expensive. As opposed to what? All health care costs have been skyrocketing for many years, which is what Obamacare was supposed to remedy. Except it didn't. It only accelerated the rate of price increases (except for the people who can't pay anyway) and took away options many of us had before the law passed. It would be nice if insurance companies could once again offer a major medical coverage policy without having to include all the basic crap and extras that drive up the cost. I don't need a policy that includes sex change operations or abortion coverage or annual PAP smears. Eliminating Obamacare will allow insurance companies to once again offer basic major medical policies at lower cost than what we have to pay now.

My only experience with a hospital in the last decade was an ER visit when I cut my hand with a chainsaw. They offered to give me a 50% discount if I paid on the spot before leaving the premises. I did and it was still expensive. But a lot less than paying for insurance and then having to pay the full rate because I hadn't met my deductible yet. Health insurance is a scam and I have no answer for people with families because there is no good option when you have dependents. When I had a colonoscopy last year my doc referred me to a place that takes self pay clients. Cost me $950 I think. Again, cheaper than insurance plus deductible.

Don't recall exactly. I want to guess $2700. I remember I had to pay three separate entities, all in advance. The doctor, the anesthesiologist and the surgery center that provided the operating room.

Never had heart surgery. Last surgery I had was a bicep tendon repair several years back. Nothing. Paying your bills never hurts your credit score. My FICO has been between 750-820 for the last decade or more. It tends to drop a little when I get a bit over extended but comes back up as my balances drop.

It's all part of the ruse to scare everybody into paying the outrageous policy rates. All those insurance company executives gotta pay for their yachts and mansions somehow. If you think you're protecting yourself against a possible $300K hospital bill by paying $10K per year then you pay it. But if you find out that the $300K hospital bill can be settled for $20K then how much value is it to pay the $10K in annual premiums?

I believe if you really want and need to work, most likely you will find something. May not always be want you know or want .....but. There was one time in MA during the 80s that finding work was extremely difficult for me. I had worked my way up to press operator in a factory. When the factory was purchased by an overseas company, a lot of us lost our jobs. A lot of people lost jobs back then in other areas of mfg. Robotics and computers took some of them. Automation. And there was a recession going on. Less product needed to be mfg. I took the unemployment while I looked. Buggered my toe on a lawn mower and the temp disability helped. Then they had a program to retrain me through the unemployment office after my toe healed. State paid all my wages except .50 per hour by a company willing to train me. I can't remember for how long. But obviously cheaper at min wage for the unemployment insurance and it gave me work and a new trade that paid better later. Not near what I made at the previous factory, but enough for the time coupled with a part time gig I put together for myself. Seemed a good program for the times.

That is how right to work is in AZ. Easier to find another job than get unemployment. I was able to join a plumbers union though. But the shop I worked for was non union. So it was more of a learn here thing, and maybe we can find you work later.

Here's one from today, I just found 2 minutes ago. Just an example. And it's from Reuters so you can't claim it's an alt-right website. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-fiat-chrysler-investment/fiat-chrysler-to-invest-1-billion-in-michigan-plant-add-2500-jobs-idUSKBN1F034F 100% attributable to Trump's tax policies and the threat of Trump pulling the US out of NAFTA. Also from the same article- Like I said earlier, if you haven't read about it yet then it's because you don't want to see it.

Which brings us back to why I voted for Trump and why he is Making America Great Again, lowering corporate taxes to encourage corporations to bring dollars and factories back to America. But I'm not going to discuss politics on this forum any more and you will have some convoluted excuse why I'm wrong anyway.

Go ahead and research the Teamsters union and their beginnings with Jimmy Hoffa and the mob. They were founded on a base of corruption and it permeates every brick in their foundation. There is no way the Teamsters union could ever be free of corruption because without corruption there is no union.
