It’s a good thing and a good feeling to help people that can really use the help. Are you Kenny’s Tree Removal? I think I found you on instagram, private account. Nice pic too. Yesterday I went to bid a couple jobs and ended up falling a tree for some nice folks. It was an easy lay in the back yard and it turns out the tree had honey bees in the stump. It was cold so they weren’t flying, thank goodness. We agreed on $150 to put it on the ground, no cleanup. These people run a non profit cancer fundraiser so I told them to put the money towards that. Oh and a bee keeper will be there today to rescue the bees. I meant to take a couple pictures and forgot.

They printed the shipping order this morning. It still hasn’t shipped yet... but I will just live with it, my mistake.

Sometimes with an air leak you can spray the suspected problem area with starting fluid and if it’s sucking air you’ll know it. I use to have problems with the 660’s head bolts backing out. As soon as it would start running lean like I was running out of gas I knew it was time to clean them up and loctite them in.

If anyone purchases anything from treestuff don?t forget to add the free gift certificate to your cart. I bought almost $900 worth of stuff yesterday afternoon and didn?t see that offer and when I called and asked about it this morning they said I was to late. It would have been a $100 gift certificate...

True Cory and those big hardwoods would be very difficult for me I’m sure since I have cut very few of them.

That’s cool! I am assuming there is actually good useful information in there and not just information needed to pass a test?

The best way I have found to determine the lean of a tree by eye is to stand on the opposite side of the lean at a 90 degree angle to the direction of the desired lay. If I stand under the lean I have a very difficult time trying figure out which way it will go. I also have to be standing next to the tree, not 40’ from it. Nice falling, felling, cutting, logging, sawing, tripping video. I do like your explanation of things too. Maybe someday that Collins will be the star of the show but for now I’m sure it was happy being an extra.

Yes and no cory. They are protected fairly well by the brim of my hardhat and a lot of times the snow will roll right off them. They tend to fog up a little too but not real bad. Rain is the worst, everytime you look up they get a drop or two of water on them. I carry a couple paper towels in my radio pouch so I can wipe them off occasionally. I don’t like screens and the bugs goggles cut down your peripheral vision. The oakley m frames don’t have a full wrap frame around the lens so they shed debris really well. Part of it must be learning how to live with whatever you wear.

Nice bikes squisher. I may have talked myself into a new bike this spring. I’m thinking about a KLR 650 so I can hit the backroads. You can ride all over Idaho and only have to travel a minimal amount of highway.

Do you use any kind of shooting stick or tripod? I hear ya in getting excited shooting coyotes. It seems like a guy has to rush before you miss your chance and then when you “miss” it seems like you should have taken your time.

There are different distress calls that imitate certain animals. I have always used a cottontail in distress, a mouth call, not electronic.

Calling coyotes is a lot of fun when you get something to respond. If nothing is happening it is cold and boring. I had a golden eagle come down on me one afternoon when I was calling. I heard the rushing wind off it’s wings as it started getting close and it scared the crap out of me. I knew something was coming fast but I couldn’t figure out where it was until I looked up about the same time it figured out what I was. It flew off and I wiped a bead of sweat off my forehead... Wait til you call in a pack of wolves Jim, that’s exciting too.

Ah hell, just use bar oil. If someone asks about the oil slick on the water just tell them that it’s a natural accumulation of oil that seeps out of the lake bed and gets trapped beneath the ice in winter time... :D

Quite an accomplishment. I have always wanted to hike the long distance trails but I don’t know how I would finance it... Here in Idaho we have the Centennial Trail that runs from south to north. At a minimum it would be awesome to hike it someday.
