My chip truck is 44" load height, IIRC, and my f450 service body is 41". I've put my mini-loader in both. 41" feels noticeably lower with 10' ramps. I ride on the loader, so that's easy. Can you sit on the stumper to ride up, so you can reach the controls, or have a walking ramp next to the loading ramps so that you can operate the controls? Is 43" possibly too high? Big tires? Lifted suspension?

Having a stump grinder ready to hook up and roll, and out of the way at other times, is nice. Can you get a bigger truck and a small trailer? You're going to have to have longer ramps, and be able to operate the controls the whole way up. 2wd or 4wd? I've put my superjr into my pick-up bed, but it was a low-slung 2wd.

Smart man to blow the mini track clear to freeze the ground. The mental toolbox just got fuller.

1/4" or 1/8" drill bit tells lots, cheaply.

Mousetrap Mondays https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQv9MGcwQg4vvbdVw61mx-XMyhsq9EgmR This guy has replicated 1000s-of-years-old designs, and modern. A reason for the expression of building a better mousetrap.

Rented a Nifty 50 ton-behind lift. Wrecked the regrown tops on a many times topped maple. Lots of figure and burl in the butt big butt. Worked around the power line, rather than scheduling a drop. Couldn't have gotten the lift into any tighter spot if we tried. Two setups. Figured on 3, maybe 4. The homeowner specifically reminded me to take all the wood. I guess she doesn't want to try to turn 3-4' rounds into firewood. Funky thing must have been bent over when young. Butt comes out of the ground at 50-60*. Did a cedar canopy raise at another job with the lift. Well-spent $250.

A rattle can or two will give it an all-white, 30' paint job. Two of my trucks are old, and chipper is ancient, but look decent. Any color of white blends more than Rust on white, even white on rust (going to need prep work if it to get a real paint job, anyway). Sean, do you have your own show going? Put it to work!!

I'll leave a climbing rope in place every blue moon. Either I inspect the whole thing, or have spurs and lanyard on, with the rope as aid.

Did you cut through the pocket to get to the bolt head, Mick? These pockets are very worn, so new ones will have metal. I don't know how much imbalance will cause vibrations.

I don't really slide my saw that much, but when I can, I do. One form of ergonomic use or another. I don't recall ever 'thumbing' the trigger during limbing, only felling.
