A doubled line is just one leg doubled over... granted, each leg takes a lighter load of you. But if a leg is cut or you TIP breaks, down you go. It was hard for me as well. The doubled line just feels more stable especially on limb walks. And the 2-1 is nice. I guess, using the hybrid devises helps a lot in helping some over come this, as you can switch back and forth through out the climb. I feel this eases the nerves for some over time. Trusting the gear is key. Especially the Itty bitty hitch cord for most. And knots. JME.

I'm gonna have a spiral staircase installed, but might as well hang a rope next to it so people can footlock up to the Monday morning meeting! The whole place is 7,000sf. There is approx 400 sf in the back back where the owner has to store a couple old project cars. If we need the space I'll just buy the cars off him or pay to put them in storage. Yes pat, we get to keep the lift! Pretty stoked about that! I'm not sure if there's a way to put a key code. Each of the employees will have a clicker to open the front roll-up door. They will be able to come and go whenever. But we will be putting in a bunch of cameras. Right now I'm thinking about NestCam. Oh- there's also a forklift in there! He said if we keep putting gas in it, we can use it! He also said we can use this massive stake bed truck that has a side-mounted lift gate and has like a 16 ft dump bed in it. Pretty sure I'm gonna end up buying that off him! You can see it in the pic off too the right. But yeah- it seems too good to be true that's for sure! I'll be stoked when march 1st comes and we're actually moving our stuff in! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I hope you are dry inside and working on that shop. Crazy weather bro. Should be flooded streets all over LA. Probably mud slides too. We'll probably see more levees break and dam crisis here today. Be careful out there.

Thanks guys. Super excited! It needs some polishing up. Owners gotta move some vehicles. I'm gonna tear out some crummy drywall and just have bare studs. Need to build a staircase to our future conference table. Whole list of things. It's gonna be a blast to watch it come to life! Conference table for morning meetings is gonna go up top on that upper deck. Maybe we'll put some railings! Nice wide entrance. Super busy street outside- but this is LA. we're used to it. The most exciting news!!! So TreeCareLA has been in business for going on 6 years. We run a 4-5 man crew out of a 2 car garage. All our equipment is packed against the wall because we keep 2 cars in there every day. Chipper truck, pick up and employee cars get parked in the street in front of my neighbors' home each day So for the past 2-3 years I have been putting increasingly more and more time looking for a place to be the TreeCareLA HQ. Really all we need is a plot of land maybe 60x60 (80x80 preferred) and I'd drop a shipping container for equipment storage and then build a huge fence. It was a nightmare. I followed leads on hundreds of properties. I learned a lot about commercial real estate. I learned that banks don't loan money to small business for them to buy real estate. I learned that people in LA hold properties and want them vacant for future fat sales to developers. I learned that most of LA is off limits because of zoning requirements. Well last Friday I found a place. A warehouse next door to the green waste center we go to almost every day. Did some research to find the owner and it turned out the guy that owns it has been my go-to mechanic for about 8 years now. We talk business all the time. He knows me by name - which is saying a lot in LA. I called him up and asked. He said sure- let's take a look. We talked logistics and monthly prices. We did the thing where we both write a price down on a sheet of paper then we switched. There was a $1,000 difference so we met in the middle. He gave me the key on the spot. We move in on the first. Gentlemen I present to you the soon to be new TreeCareLA HQ. If you need to find us, we'll be on Florence next to the dump! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Excellent Paul. Just as easy as the HH. You just clip back into the center ring and do it. I swapped back and forth in the tree just like I do your devise.

Why yes Sam... That top went KABLEWY all over the burn pile :D <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/E52E0SAPyZM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Well, today, we start another week of high winds and rain... Storm supposed to be as bad as last month. :P:|: Gets old. Woke up first this morning, after going to sleep grateful I got to climb and prune live trees for 2 days, to a call from a competitor. Seems I needed a heads up that OSHA is crawling all over us now and they got tagged. Their guy got caught starting a saw wrong, and then they started checking everything. I think I posted semi recent we had a guy killed up here pulling a top. SO now we have 8 inspectors listening for chainsaws and seeking them out. Ohhh goody.... So I have a week to make sure all our paper is in order, double check and triple check all our safety procedure and gear. Guess we need to keep to those 15 minute safety meetings and document. Yada Yada Yada. My friendly competition might very well end up subbing to one of the big companies (or getting leased by them) to keep in business. I guess they hit them pretty hard in fines. Ahhhhhh the life :|:

Low and slow. Test... But easily adjusted once in the tree as well in case. It has two adjustment points. So you really need to dial it in just like a hitch for the rope you are using. Is it sliding when you weight it? Tighten the cam (s). Is it binding too hard? Loosen a cam or cams. Low and slow. Then try some short ascents. Up, down... Up ... down... How did it feel? You are already familiar with how your hitch cord works on your rope... This is just a mechanical hitch.. You want it to grab when weighted and tend nicely when advancing. Like anything, you don't just pull it out of the box and go work climb on it. Common sense.
