Poisonwood is just terrible if you are allergic. I mean terrible. There is something called Zanfel, about $50.00 a tube, that helps. Most people get a steroid shot. Although the eye went through Cudjoe key, I have heard that really Big Pine suffered the worst. Thank your friends from the bottom of all of our hearts. So much destruction, a helping hand is so appreciated. God bless them.

Limbrat, are the guys in the yellow shirts from the Morman Church? We have a lot of people from that church helping in Marathon, they all have yellow tee shirts on.They have been a big help to a lot of people.

It is such a dust bowl here, no foliage to help collect dust. We are getting little bits of rain to knock it down but it sure is dusty. Pretty petty complaint eh? We are going to be busy for a long time. What a mess. What a mess.

Yep, and that is from one end of the state to the other and across the state!! Holy smokes, what a mess. The red cross left Marathon today, now stationing in Big Pine Key. All but two neighborhoods in Marathon have drinkable water and power. That is huge. HUGE. The sewer working is even HUGER! lol. We get though it, just takes time. We are working 6 days, tree crew will be in Key West for a month at least. Only one piece of equipment is giving us a fit, the back hoe of things. Water went in through the exaust and some other problems I can't explain because I know nothing about back hoes other than they are working on it cause we need it!

So, the plane is a c-116, not the president lol. I think that was the number of the plane, one of the largest carrier planes. Headed into the office, no power there, but the men were allowed back yesterday and will be in to formulate our plan.

Burn, so sorry I used the STFU phase after you posted, I know you meant well and things will be built stronger when they are rebuilt. Perhaps some day you and Mel can join us on our deck and have a glass of iced tea to discuss how the keys could be better. Brian, work safe my friend. Just taking a short break here, it will be a long road of recovery for theses island and I am grateful to be a part of it. So grateful to be a part of it. I, for the first time in my life, am seeing our tax dollars at work that amazes, I mean amazes me. This may be stupid, but can anyone tell me if the President landed in Marathon? If so, we watched the plane take off from our porch last night. I know Air force one landed at that airport when the senior Bush was President, so I know it can land there. Anyway, the plane that took off was HUGE for these parts! At first we thought it was another C130 but we think this was a much, much bigger plane. It left after dark which was odd as well, most C130'sthat we have observed quit coming at dusk. Pretty stupid, but would just like to know. I have not left my property to ask around town, just though someone here might have heard. Glad to be a part of this forum as well, thanks so much for the prayers and well wishes. Butch, your mama would be so proud. Thanks so much for putting this up for us to share.

Greg Scott, our Arborist, is alive and well. Had some water roll through his house, but he is well. Holy smokes, we got home Thursday, spent Friday making sure the trucks started and got them back to the yard. We had them staged at different high spots around the island. Today took a tree off our mechanics mother's house, tarped the roof at the office, picked up 8 free cases of that budwiser water and believe it or not, got to our home to find out WE HAVE POWER at our home. The boat was on the lift, had not moved an inch. The fabric on the t top is gone but all well otherwise. You would not believe the number of police officers and Armed Forces that are in the Keys, c-130's landing at the air port behind my house, black hawks and another huge type of helicopter bringing in supplies. Red Cross has stations set uo around our little island and I am sure in the lower keys. One great thing, the source that said so many had died was WRONG. Thank God. This storm hit the ocean side of Marathon bad, the last Hurricane, Wilma, hit the bay side bad. The people are coming back in, the lower keys open at 7 am tomorrow. I have not left Marathon, so have not seen the real destruction in the lower keys, but on the way down until Marathon all I could say was wow. and wow, wow. Our grocery store is open in Marathon, they picked our trash up this morning, and I swear, I just heard the mosquito truck going by. Things will be even better tomorrow.

A friend on the ground in Marathon with a SAT phone confirmed our hope. House is fine, office is fine, equipment is FINE!! If you see any reports, you may notice they have not mentioned how many deaths. I have heard, from a very reliable source, that 200 people died in Marathon alone, mostly boaters on Boot Key Harbor. The have set up a temporary morgue powered with a generator. I hope my source is wrong. Still no word on our Arborist. I spoke with his wife's son today and again this evening. No word. We need to get back and get to work! Just waiting for the all clear.

Hey Good Morning! After the storm passed Sebring, we crossed the state to Vero. In a hotel right off 95 that has power and ac, People that live in Key Largo are being allowed back on their island today. V2007, Victor lives on Key Largo, I hope he is okay, some parts of that island got hit hard others did not. The eye went through Cudjoe Key which is about 40 minutes down towards Key West from us. The information I am receiving is that the Atlantic side of our island, Marathon, took the brunt of the surge where as in Wilma, the bay side did. My home is on the bay side and although the island is only about 3 miles across, it really makes a difference, While I can not say for certain, but we have seen a picture that is a little fuzzy that we can tell is our house after the storm, it appears to be standing. I will confirm when we get back and have power. Our greatest fear at the moment and will be until we hear anything, is for our Arborist that is 65-66 years old that stayed on Big Pine Key. His name is Greg Scott, and only God himself could have spared his and his wife's life. We have he and his wife's name on the Coast Guard Wellness list as well as a direct text to the search and rescue on the ground. Big Pine Key was hit very very hard and is around 30 minutes down from our house. Please know that on the news, you are going to see the worst. The worst happened, don't get me wrong, but we still have hope. The islands have a lot of good people on them and we will pull together and take things one day at a time. All of Florida took some really hard hits, 85% state is with out power. If you are inclined to buy stock, buy Duke Energy, lol. We can see I-95 from our room and electric truck after electric truck are heading south. The marines are on our islands clearing the roads, search and rescue continues and I will be in touch as I am able. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes. Gary, my heart goes out to your friends on St. Martin.

Sean, Can't speak to the price but the Brush Bandit is a great machine. We have a 2004, yes 2004 280 that ran every day all day for 11 years. It is still our back up machine. Runs like a dog after a bone. Mind you we maintain our machines very well but it is a work horse. Find out a little about the fellows operation, I am sure who ever is selling it for him would love to talk about him. Look around at his other equipment, is it well maintained? Did he use it every day? I agree with Brian, the winch is a great feature.

Hi Elena, I just did a sketch for Gary Gasoline for a garden renovation and I spec'd in a few daylillies, are you shipping them currently? If so, can you have a look and give me a price to ship them to him? He has done me some favours lately and I want to give him a little something. Also, can I pay you via Paypal?
  2. OOPS! Any email sent to me through this page is orbiting in cyberspace at this moment.
