Sean, Can't speak to the price but the Brush Bandit is a great machine. We have a 2004, yes 2004 280 that ran every day all day for 11 years. It is still our back up machine. Runs like a dog after a bone. Mind you we maintain our machines very well but it is a work horse. Find out a little about the fellows operation, I am sure who ever is selling it for him would love to talk about him. Look around at his other equipment, is it well maintained? Did he use it every day? I agree with Brian, the winch is a great feature.

Maybe a stupid question but the new design, will it be insulated around power lines?

Jay, thanks for sharing that, very interesting. Seems like our safety meetings cover the same topics over and over again, but well worth the time.

Safety and the science/mechanics of how a cut limb reacts is the most important aspect of tree work. You can't get that from a book, it comes from experience watching it happen.. I would recommend finding a local tree company and going to work as a ground man for at least a year. Just work, and listen to direction. Work and listen to the directions given to you for the first 6 months, then start asking questions. The question you may come up with on the second week will probably be answered in the 4th week with out you even asking. Listen to the advice given, just LISTEN and work for the first 6 months.

Cory, thanks for asking, we have had some real problems with it.One,the engine is a Perkins. I don't know all the particulars other than what it cost to fix, which was $ 1,900.00 . Some little plastic part was vibrated off and broke. That was about a month in. Covered under warranty, but we put the money out until they approved that warranty. The real problem was not the money but the fact that it is a Perkins. The parts come out of England so It doesn't get fixed overnight. So, month after spending bookoo bucks on the beast, was down at least 21/2 weeks. Right now, it is 5 hours away getting fixed again. Actually fixing what bandit agrees is a design flaw. They are welding plates behind (I think) the top roller so the material flows properly. It gets worse, in fixing that flaw, they found another. The hood mounts had completely vibrated off. That is probably what caused the first problem. The brackets are a bandit issue, so those parts can be over-nighted and should be fixed today. I will say Bandit has stood behind the machine and our Rep, Kyle, has been diligent in helping us. I've asked Bandit to bring the chipper back to us when it is fixed as a good will gesture. I mean for us, the five hour trip to West Palm Beach is quite a haul. (and yes, that is the closest Bandit dealer)

Hi Elena, I just did a sketch for Gary Gasoline for a garden renovation and I spec'd in a few daylillies, are you shipping them currently? If so, can you have a look and give me a price to ship them to him? He has done me some favours lately and I want to give him a little something. Also, can I pay you via Paypal?
  2. OOPS! Any email sent to me through this page is orbiting in cyberspace at this moment.
