I would never use a utility pole for assistance doing tree work. Your asking for trouble. Utility poles come in different classes and in all different lengths. They are put in the ground 10% of off their length +2'. So a 50' pole is installed 7' down. Your not pulling it over but so many other things can happen.

I have a 20 METER length of pure 16 strand .8mm Dyneema/Spectra braid. This is a perfect snare replacement for the Brion Toss Micro and Small Splicing wands. Would work fine on medium wand but may need to double knot in brass tube. A dip in MaxiJacket Coating makes for the perfect snare. Price is $15 shipped in ConUS. PLEASE REPLY TO THREAD BUT ALSO SHOOT ME A PM IF INTERESTED. This just makes following the thread easier. Thanks This is braided, unsheathed Dyneema also called Spectra in .8mm, 16 strand-  Dyneema is the world's strongest fiber. Dyneema is a superstrong polyethylene fiber that offers maximum strength combined with minimum weight. It is up to 15 times stronger than quality steel and up to 40% stronger than aramid fibers, both on weight for weight basis. Dyneema floats on water and is extremely durable and resistant to moisture, UV light and chemicals. The applications are therefore more or less unlimited.

MB is crazy comfortable. Leg pads are a must! Do away with the giant bill board leg patches and add padding. Took two saddles to get correct size. XL is HUGE!!! I wear a 42 jeans and needed a LARGE saddle. AWESOME piece of gear.

It is very stiff. I am guessing it will break in a bit and feel even better with use.

Hard when you can't walk in and try things on. Free shipping to me and it only cost me $16 to return Onyx. Definitely worth it and glad I went that route.

The urge overwhelmed me...... I ended up purchasing both saddles but only keeping one. I was able to hang in each one in my basement. Though both saddles are nice. There is NO COMPARISON in comfort. The MB is so superior basically because of the huge back support. Amazing how comfortable it is. Onyx is going back this morning. Thanks for all the help.

In the utility Industry we are required to use the BUCK SQUEEZE while climbing poles. It requires a pole strap and a lanyard. When we come to an obstacle the lanyard goes over and clipped in before first is unhooked. Definitely not a fast process. The days of free climbing are long gone.

Just purchased a 2017 Onyx. MB is a 4-6 week wait every where and I got the Onyx for a great price. For 2-3 times a month use I think it will serve me well.

The 2017 onyx I believe has the same legs as the MB. They redid the leg straps and got rid of butt strap for 2017

The $100 is definitely not a real breaker. The whole decision is a question of comfort. All the extra attachments and such on the MB are irrelevant for my needs. Is the MB belt that much more comfortable than the Onyx? That's my only dilemma.

Is it that much better? Or is it just different? All the attachment points on MB are not something I need. As stated I like the larger padded belt. Is that worth $100 more?? I hate these decisions

I should have also mentioned I am NOT a professional arborist so daily use it will not be. I like the large back pad on MB but maybe too overbuilt for a few times a month use???? A weekend limb cut here and there. Setting up treestands every season For hunting, etc. I CAN ALSO GET AN ONYX FOR $100 LESS THAN MB!

I am looking to purchase a saddle. I did have an Onyx for a brief moment but was not able to use it at that time. Wondering if I should go with the onyx again or the new MB?? I like the thicker wider belt on the MB. CURIOUS if anyone has knowledge of both. Thanks

That is just a single phase of primary going into the top of a cut-out and then down into a single phase transformer. That phase could be 4kv 13kv. Directly below the transformer is the secondary rack. Two opposite phases (120&120) and a system neutral.

Those 3 phases are all the same voltage whatever it may be BUT JUST DIFFERENT PHASES. 4kv is not bad. When you get to 13kv and above it can literally jump at you as you approach with tools. Draws a nice arc before you even come in Contact with it!!!

This is my profession . the company i work for we have 4kv, 13, 27, and 33 for primary voltage. 345,000 transmission voltage. Counting an insulator does you nothing as its the same poly insulators. Poles are badged / marked to identify. Numbers, letters, colors, etc are used for identifying.
