Washing rope helps. I wash brand new rope, no break in that way. I use tenex blue and yellow. Same melting point as oceans and that's popular, don't get y tenex ain't :/:

I've been climbing on my rw a lot lately. Cmi pulley 10" stiffy, with a michoacan that's been the only hitch combo I climb on now. Love the RW it's way simple should have brought on forever ago. Climb high, nice tether it looks compact. Have u tried a rope runner I'm getting one soon I hope, just thought u might have some input.

NO_bivy i run a lot. About 5 miles a day almost every day of the week, so i do know that swimming def, burns more calories then running though, your going to be a beast when you can swim a whole 2.4 miles non stop. Good luck nutrition is the key to any regement though, so eat clean.... Good luck to you.

Bad on the body. I think they should come up with a powered milker that grips (gently) one way, and easily slides the other, like an ascender and powered hammer, a la blacksmithing/ powered desk staplers, but geared to hammering rope.

I wonder if its like the Pepsi Challenge, where the market grew due to adverting, and they both won, rather than just a fight over market share. Dentists and such won, too... put there kids though college. Increased use of splicing services?

I screamed and blew a whistle when I saw my former employee was setting up to making a blind cut by his SRT-down-strand. No luck. He had a 540 lanyard wrap, so he had fall arrest. He missed it, anyway. The whole thing would have been avoided with a simple, "No blind cuts. Know where your down-strand is." Much more professional. I don't know if the customer overheard or not.

I always limit the amount of areas where people put tools. Ideally, where they belong in the truck is plan A. Plan B is one "staging area", as Butch said in the Groundman article, near someplace you won't be dropping things, under the eave, on the deck, next to the flower bed, and especially out of the area where someone can back over it with a mini/ truck. The job I'm working now has a great slot in the trunk of the tree that magically fits the bar end ;) , so that we can both see where it is, and it doesn't fall off the top of a log then have the log roll over it or the mini crush it one way or the other. Gear is hardest to damage when its off the ground.

Reg, the good thing is that you can turn connect and disconnect throughout the day with bump of a palm, much as you would try to shout to someone, but effectively getting their attention over noise. You don't have to stay connected all day. I wear ear plugs under my muffs...extra noise protection and prevents me from listening to heavy breathing and grunting.
