Watch what you say Peter. Somehow it'll be your fault for not grinding that stump.

No pics, but I did pretty good on the grill tonight with pork chops and asparagus for 15 people. We had two chops left over and they will be diced up tomorrow morning and mixed with some hot salsa to pour over some eggs. Eating at sun up to head over and try to catch dinner for tomorrow. We brought a large amount of burger as back up.

With a tracked machine you'll learn to feel if a track is about to throw and can usually correct it. That being said, I put the right side track on mine twice in the same day last week. It was a bit loose and I was rushing around to many stumps. With the tools close by and knowing how to do it, it only takes a few minutes but it still aggravates the hell out of ya.

I'm guessing you just let them sit in a pile for a long time. Maybe stir them up with a loader every now and then.

Doing the same thing here Treemuggs. This will be the first year. I noticed my garlic did best when I put it in my flower beds. Hasn't been worth a dang since my wife put an end to that. Just making my garden a giant flower bed now. Using a two year composted mulch. Hoping for a good year

Also you'll have to pick which machine. The bobcat mt has a different mounting plate than the toro. I ran a mt 85(?) this winter and wasn't overly impressed, but I never got to put it head to head with the Vermeer. One benefit of the bobcat is you can hook up to most standard skid steer attachments. I hooked it up to the power broom at work and cleaned the shop floor one morning. It also had enough ass to load the rockhound onto a trailer.

A bucket or root rake grapple is great when you have wide openings to get through or a lot of smallish brush latex out every which way. They are a bit trickier to load a chipper with and like Paul said you are limited to you narrowest opening. I load higher than the actual lift hieght by doing what Willie said. I can't reach over my sides on the trailer but I've loaded logs clear up to the top with it. Best option is to have both. Still working on the root rake grapple. Gotta find time to research them.

I really like my BMG. Like others have said, it's pretty easy to turn by bumping it. The power rotate could be nice but I think the weight difference would frustrate me to much.

Well I'm not dead yet but the wife hasn't pulled in the drive either. I was gonna get something accomplished today. Only thing I did was clean out the garage fridge. She's gonna be so mad:\::thumbup:

I've got a few options in that range. Thanks for the input. I figure smoking a good meal is family time plus allowing me a bit of catching up around the house. Good deal

Over your property is your property. Carry a gun and shoot it down. I know your laws aren't the same as mine but I won't put up with that. I'm pretty good with the big shot. If I don't knock em down with the throw bag, I'll catch the props with the line. Day is going ok. Not getting the garage cleaned except for the fridge.

Snakes are the devil! It says so in the Bible. It's even right in the beginning. Bad news. Can't stand them. Scream like a little girl when they sneak up on me.

What size WSM would you recommend for a family of five plus a couple of guest on occasion? Options I saw with just a quick look were from 14"-22"

Had a good day( yesterday by a few hours now) today. Busted out three easy jobs with three very satisfied customers. Yet another reason I want to do my own thing full time. Seems I get to enjoy it more. Thinking it gonna happen next year. Trying to keep peace with my current employer as I could benefit from it. Also trying to get a few guys up to par to replace me. Had a small birthday party for one of my cousins at the house tonight. She's going through a tough time and we cheered her up and talked her in to going camping for the holiday weekend coming up. Finished off by watching the SRT webinar video from Treestuff that I missed because I refuse to join Faceplant. Learned a trick or two from Kevin. Ending my night here. Signing out soon to get up early and cook breakfast like I do every Sunday.

Just caught up on this thread and I'll agree with Deva. I've been looking into the woodchip gardening thing lately because I lack time to till and I seem to have an abundance of woodchips. I'm gonna give it a try and see how it does. Can't go any worse than last years garden. I signed up for chip drop in my area last week. Nothing close enough to justify using it yet. I dump chips for free anyhow so I will only use it if it's close by and free. Once they start charging I'm out.
