Isn’t technology great! My boss has gotten a few of those but none of them have been mine. Had kind of a shit day for the beautiful weather. To much outside stuff going on today.

It’s really no sharper than rope on rope. And less friction as it tightens up so less heat damage

The wife made the mistake of asking me to stop by the local butchers to pick up a few things. I just couldn?t resist getting dinner while I was there. Mushrooms and onions plus garlic potatoes will occompany these. I might even do up some mushroom caps as an appetizer. I need this weather to break. I spend to much time right now thinking about dinner.

Take that house at at 10-15 lbs and turn it into a cute 100-200lbs. Even a bobcat at 35lbs will really ruin your day. Nothing but raw power in them damn hell spawns

No thanks on buried alive. Also big cats bother me. Sharp and pointy on five ends, faster than me, and pound for pound much stronger. Honestly they scare the hell outta me. Walk softly and carry a “boom” stick

I’ve manafed to lose a few home made 3strand slings and a felling wedge but other than that I’ve done pretty good. Oh gloves. Many pairs of gloves. Keeping gear that is not being used for the task in a clearly visible area or on the truck is the easiest way to keep track of things.

We’ve got a few breaking machines at work but the only data that comes out of them is “I just barely bumped it”

The 088 is reserved for ALAP or really big, dense wood. Anyone that can run one all day shall be called “sir” in my book. My best ground man says he will give me a hundred bucks for every cut I make on spurs with it. I’ve yet to even try. If I ever do, THERE WILL BE A PICTURE, because I’ll never do it again.

I prefer my 020T, a pair of 200T's and lastly a 201TC. My 020 and 200's are stock still. When they start to give me major issues I'll pay to have them built properly. The TC is my everyday at work saw. It's a decent replacement. Getting a bit tempermental now that I've had it for a couple years. Now my favorite felling saw is my 046. Damn thing is 20 years old and just won't quit. Best thing is, anyone else that picks it up can't keep it running. I start it and it runs perfect. Daily I use a 461. I'm on my third one in three years. Still love it, just not as much as my personal saw. I think the biggest problem with the daily saws is other people touch them from time to time. That and I rarely get paid to maintain them. Usually the lowest guys on the totem pole do maintenance while I'm out taking care of other things. That should be changing in two weeks though. The company just hired a 20 year Stihl tech to assist our truck mechanic and do the small engine stuff.

Interesting. I do both for canopy anchors. Depends on my mood and diameter of tie in point. I’ll still trust either one. I use the alpine with a steel biner when I get over 12” diameter. Usually when I’m down to a spar for the ease of adjusting the tail length for blocking down.

I?ve got to have the most unorganized garage in the county! This is about my tenth time since New Years I?ve gone out to clean it. I?m easily distracted when I set off for this task. I?ve been staring at this pile thinking of what to splice next. I know tenex is the gateway drug to splicing and I?m trying so hard to say no, but it?s so easy to get addicted. Any suggestions?
