Sounds like you're smashing it 8) "Booking fee of 9.5%" ? Do you need 10%? 5 might be easier to swallow and still has em hooked lol I have 90 days expiry on quotes, it seems reasonable enough. But I hope to have terms and conditions shortly cos I know most people wait until they are stung before they put them out there..

Our local authorities tell HOs that they must engage a CA for tree work to be compliant with legislation. Once you read the legislation that they reference there is no mention of it whatsover. But its not worth trying to explain it to the client. The motivation behind this is to make it hard for the hacks to get work. Fair enough but it seems they are happy to lie in order to achieve this and also disadvantage the good operators which are not CA.

I bought my first chipper (bandit 990) a couple weeks ago  and was looking at starting a maintenance type thread... info from manuals conflicts to that of bandit mechanics etc so I'll likely have a few questions coming up. I'm keen to look after the machine so it will look after me etc, hydraulic hose are not currently on the list of matters, fluid is though-does everyone replace fluid yearly? I know a guy that whos chipper pissed fluid all over someones lawn and it pretty much ruined the day.

I hate it when you try to make sure you have everything onboard but still overlook something, its almost as though the extra effort helps you forget the small items... Mick thats interesting you don't use throw lines.

Yep that makes sense, next summer I'll be slogging it out in my brand new vest :) Am thinking earlier starts with electric saws as well (to bypass noise regulations).

I wonder how effective it could be to have cooling devices applied to wrists and ankles?? Apparently these are good locations due to the large veins being close to the surface. If it worked ok then you could do away with the bulk of these vests ... hmmmm :?

To me it just seems like a proxy for the insurance companies to control their outgoings, the end game is likely hourly rates for storm cleanup.

It can't hurt to promote a holistic approach but I sense its an uphill battle convincing a lot of the clients. Good luck though.

haha Jay whos at fault with this one? The buyer or the supplier? Reminds of some clients that ordered a massive water tank and asked if we could lift it into their yard whilst doing the tree work, I immediately offered to book a crane for them. Did you rig a pulley on a higher balcony or how did you lift her in?

I love a good salad with some protein, nice light summer meals. Steve I have an almost identical bag of sauce sitting around but its expired so I might try to to pick up another one. I'd say the Maesri trumps the Ayam but making one from scratch must be the real deal- I've never done curry from scratch.

made a red curry with chicken, eggplant, broccoli. sauce is from a can, Maesri brand. My friend had a thai missus and considers himself quite the curry jedi. He says maesri is the best curry from a can/jar. I'd have to agree it tasted pretty good.

The old GRCS bar makes a pretty good stick if need be, mine lays beside a machete behind the drivers seat Guns are pretty uncommon here compared to the states, must be nice to know you could control almost any situation should it arise. In all honesty though, its also pretty nice to know that you are unlikely to be shot at...
