I was pulled over by an American cop in Sydney once, a really muscled up beefcake. Being a watcher of the show "Cops" it felt a bit surreal at the time.

Sure is, if you fry it you need to remove excess water with salt and compress it I think

I dont mind using softer (cheaper) chain, theres usually a stump to be cut most days so its gonna need a sharpening regardless. Different story if there's just clean wood to be cut all day.

Nah, the plugs don't match. Possible I could use him and his truck just to spray into if its a bigger job and theres no mulch drop nearby... I've been trying to convince him to take on his own tree jobs but hes a bit docile in that respect, just wants to chip- which is fine but you need a bigger rig to get consistent work Nice to meet you Skwerl, seems you have quite the rep around here

Work has been a bit hectic, workers absent, under priced jobs, long days etc. Luckily it's not usually like this so all good. For the last 3 or so years I've been working closely with a chipping contractor, Matt. Hes a really nice guy and its been great to have him around. As my business has grown I'd moved towards buying my own rig and promised to keep him updated as events unfolded- I'd found a chipper to buy and was going to store it until I got my cdl and a truck. Yesterday Matts chipper was having what appeared to be major issues, we thought it was the clutch. Assuming he would be off for at least a week I fast tracked buying my chipper and arranged to hire a truck off the seller. I did what I had to do but broke my word doing it.. thats business.

I've read that vaping herb is a "cleaner" high as well, not easy to prove but I believe it. I'm looking at a water piece for my vape next.

yeah that is interesting input, I will start using shop time to fill in the gaps as I move towards more equipment and likely tell people up front that anything under half a day is scheduled whenever I can fit it, no time to piss around, if you want to be there - then be there.

I can't relax until my schedule is locked in, I resent it when clients accept a bid, tell you they want it done asap and then drag out returning the booking confirmation. You are basically holding a day/timeslot open for them and making a bottle neck of bookings (other clients waiting on answers). I should be more proactive and ask for a response within a certain time frame...

I get the odd snake in bad dreams, last time I kicked out and mangled my big toe on the end of the bed.

Agreed, scheduling can become a bit stressful. I've read some others "T & Cs" that state dates are approximate and that bookings are dependent on availability of workers and equipment. I may end up having something similar, not that I won't try to accommodate clients wishes where possible but it provides something to fall back on.

Driving around doing bids today I saw an older guy looked late 80's either had a fall, heart attack or seizure I think. Two cars had pulled over and the people had him in recovery position, busy road steady traffic stream etc. I kept driving but it didn't feel 100% right, just don't think I could have done much else to help that they weren't already doing. Hope hes alright.
