First chainsaw I laid my hands on was a Montgomery Wards electric, orange ultra thick plastic, indestructible with an 8 inch bar. Had to tote around hundreds O feet of drop cords. Nothin but shaggy palms, spiral up this way a turn or two, then the other way a turn or two. Like a koala with a dreadfully long tail. 1973 lotsa palm tree. Jomo

Both triggers performed the same function Jim, throttle. One at a balanced midpoint of the handle, the other all the way at the rear, for maximum reach n leverage. Super flimsy throttle assembly protection though, just a long fragile strip of flimsy plastic, that you could fracture by just lookin at. Their hottest selling aftermarket item. The twin trigger concept's still Super today IMO. A sliding locking single ergonomically optimized trigger assembly'd be even better. Jomo

Yup, one up front, one in back. I may be wrong of course but the old Super2's are the only twin triggered trimsaws ever made I know of. And for 90 bugs a pop? Kinduva throwaway trimsaw anyways. Cases make a nice fire in the desert too. Jomo

I'll take an old twin triggered Super 2 all day long n into the sunset! I'm pretty certain I've thrown a few of the pull on's in anger, at height! They even look uncomfortable n unwieldy! Egged out dozens n dozens of the engine mount holes in my Super2's as a teen. Great fan palm buzzin saw, very lightweight. Don't talk smack bout Super2's or I'll post pics of one, I'm warnin yuz.... Take it from someone's been there n inspected by that Stephen, don't chuck spark arrestors, just cut the screens off, so upon inspection the spark arrestor's intact n functional short of wrenchin. Guys caught redhanded were asked to get their saws outta the state forest or they'd be impounded. Jomo

Yeah Berm, dealing with landscaped from container trees is more challenging, in terms of the whole tree toppling in high wind, after a week of rain, and 90 mph wind gusts. My job today was a largish Stone pine, leaning too hard on smaller Stone beside it, over all the utility feeds to the house. Fresh scrapage on the smaller Stone indicated the bigger one muscling down on it was lifting it's rootball. Told the client big boy needed to go to be sure the whole mess didn't come down n take out the utility drops. Sentimental value age of the old tree's prominence in the front yard, left me with a client desperate for another option than removal. So being february I got downright brutal and a third weight outta big boy, every leader crowdin the little whacked off or back severely, then thinned both trees out somewhat brutally. Big boy did lift up a bit straighter, not necessarily a good sign. If they survive being brutalized is an open question. I kinda hope the bark beetle finishes them both off, so I won't have to worry big boys iffy root plate liftin again in the next high wind. Jomo

Whatcha talkin bout Jed? America's burstin at the seams with unrealized mfg potential. An umbilically fed two stroke chainsaw, no gas tank, oil tank or airbox n filter, push button pneumatic start. Lightweight raw power fed all it needs umbilically, from the lift or crane truck's chassis, all the way out to you up in the air somewhere. Yummier than Apple pie washed down with with bootleg whiskey n rye. http://www.csunitec.com/saws/chain-saws/pneumatic-chain-saws Jomo

Funny you mention a chain's ability to throw dart like projectiles, with considerable force. True of far more than wild stump hinge hairs. Many palms such as Phoenix dates reclinatas need top O the bar cuts too, or you'll quickly find yourself with right leg full of poisonous darts, with one way barbs n batchit n stuff. I like to circumnavigate fat trunk wood pushin to cut with top teeth as well. Easier to eyeball too! Jomo

Does the plaintiff have a documented excuse for not having a Silvey Chain Grinder? In such an elaborate shop? That he makes iz poor laborers sharpen 3-4 foot chains by hand? Tis the ruling of the court that your LTO license be rescinded, and any logger mention in your commercial decals be redacted! Jomo

Most embarrassing n frustrating power line fiasco for me was the last day, of a long and arduous removal contract, over a hundred plus trees, on main drags, all over the power lines, the last big tree done, crane loadin logs, I'm sitting down in my lounge chair takin off my tall boots, little brother's knockin out the last few skinny little euc fastigiates capable of hittin the primaries, as I told him to, with a groundie pushin, him felling them onto an old chain link fence slotted for demolition anyways. But as fate would have it that day, a first day newbie nobody groundie yelled not on the fence! Ran in and pushed the little bitty thing back where it came from and into the primaries, which arced together, fused n melted apart, to fall dancing onto the streets below! I was stunned at the suddenness of going from a dangerous job well done n over, to a nightmare realized and running for my traffic paddle, dialing 911 on my cell phone, fury with well intentioned rookies and their spontaneous instincts. It ain't over till it's over, and take your boots off at home, are the two lessons I was taught that humiliatin day. Jomo

I use gloves to sharpen chain by hand too. But just the leather finger of one glove, to cover the cutter edge, while I take down the raker a stroke or two! Bare handed, just like an ole fool. Jomo
