Trache suction...if it's like what I saw about 25 years ago at a nursing home it's rough...hard to watch...and hard to get used to seeing what is being sucked out. Maybe it's a "cleaner" procedure now. The man I saw was a stroke victim, could not swallow; can't remember why he had a tracheostomy.

Ah ok, I thought it was something special to us! Must be the proximity to America... And yeah, the day someone tells me I can't use a specific gender descriptor...they can...well let's just say I might lose my Irish on them.

FWIW...I've used the Nifty Lift track drive spider, but only the 40' one. The next available size up is another two tonnes heavier, so I can't tow it on the trailer with my ute. If I could, I would use the taller one...but I'd have to get a bigger truck too. The SD64 would be the bee's knees, but again would have to add a trailer and bigger truck...soooo Am going to invest in an electric polesaw to give me a bit more reach. Really IMO get the tallest lift you can efficiently move with the trucks you have. I've looked at a few bucket trucks too, but to get the height and manouverability I need, the truck they are mounted on is way to big to access the sites!

Those are both great reads...the first had this "consequential line"... For someone to go from Katchatka to Paris???? Hard to imagine that was even possible back then. The distance is 8146 km (5061 miles). That must have been a helluva story, too. Edit...it WAS. I just found this. Lesseps actually did make the journey...he ended up being the only survivor of the original mission. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barth%C3%A9lemy_de_Lesseps

The tractor lifted the tree and the winch moved it off the house enough that the tractor could lower it...or vice versa. Anyway, it worked.:D The pucker factor was pretty high.

Good stuff, Grapple...thanks for sharing. Here is a big block (for me) that we used at Katrina. My brother in law (holding it for the picture) borrowed it from an oil rig company. We needed to run wire rope thru it to lift a tree off a house..no cranes available. Some pictures:

Burnham is spot on...common expression here, too...funny that a "she" was saying it and was actually through writing it, too. Sucks to have to explain the joke, don't it....:D

It's a Bermudianism...when you are done with something you say...'that's all she wrote', even if you are guy, and you aren't talking about something you actually wrote... Like you boys fixing your trucks...when the last spanner goes back in the toolbox, you can take a step back, look with satisfaction at the job well done, take a pull on your beer and say 'that's all she wrote!'
