Yowsa! That is a hell of a story! My folks had to send letters to my birth mom as kind of an "interview" process. She was able to choose between several "applicants". She also sent a picture of her when she was pregnant with me. She was holding my 2 year old brother in the picture. Honestly, if I never find out I will be fine. I have a great family. I would however like to meet my brother.....and would like to find out some health history. Things I should be looking out for.

I did send him a message recently Stig. My sister used the same guy.......recommended/required by the Nuns. She said she had to get kind of pushy with him. I would hate to have to do that. It took him 4 years and more money to finally ask the grand parents where their daughter was!

Couldn't find it for Montana. Said it was up to the courts in most states. Judge's discretion sort of thing. Hell, the Nuns would not tell me anything.....I had to hire a guy. Makes me think someone is protecting a revenue stream. I might should ask my lawyer.

I think he mis counted. Its a few posts down. Looks like it was written in a language that uses the symbol that means the artist formerly known as Prince.

I see that from time to time......like a question mark gets inserted where its not supposed to or the US dollar symbol. Not just here, but lots of other places.

Fitting, really. All those goofy foreign letters may as well just be question marks to me. I was shopping for a Russian knife sharpening system last night....and the page did not translate. Mostly question marks.

Does anyone know how to get records unsealed? I know I mentioned it before, but I was adopted through the Catholics. It was in '83.....they year before they stopped sealing the records. They sealed the records even if both parties wanted them open. Oh, well. So I hired a private investigator that was recommended by the Nuns.....as far as I knew that was the rules. I just got a hold of him and he has noting. He wont tell me a family name or anything. Maybe he is waiting for me to offer more money? Does anyone know how to petition the court to get records unsealed? Is it impossible to do if you are adopted? I figure I might as well do some looking of my own. My birth mother may not be alive yet, but my brother probably is.

Been a busy couple of days. We shipped calves yesterday. They were bought on the video sale so we just had to deliver them to town. Two loads. Load of big steers went 599....sold at 620. That is within our thirty pound grace weight. Second load was the small steers and small heifers. The steers went almost 500 and the heifers went near 450. That was quite a bit lower than we sold them. Turns out that Jenn did not adjust the weight on the light calves. Sold them the same as last year. She sold the big steers quite a bit lighter because I told her that the dry year was going to kick our ass......I guess she forgot about the light ones! Today we preg tested the cows. They were 4% dry. Very good for a normal year, let alone a dry year. Had quite a few breed really early. The flipping bulls got out for an afternoon and bred about 60! Not sure what we will do with them. The main bunch bred up nice. It was a big test for us this year now that we plan on calving much later. First of May instead of March. Breeding during the hottest part of the year and during an extreme drought.......turned out well. We worked our asses off hauling water and setting up intensive grazing practices.

Its just about killing season here. Murderous bastids! If porcupines were afraid of humans I probably would not kill so many. I dont like their attitude.

I am actually faster than a porcupine. So if turtles or porcupines ever get a taste for human flesh....they will have to find someone slower.

With nothing to stop the westward spread of the porcupine, the trees vanished. The combine harvester came 20 years too late to save the trees. Today a brave and heroic band of farmers battle the porcupine every fall.....trying to save the few trees we have left. It is a battle with no end, and there will be no clear winner. We can only hope to keep the ravenous porcupine in check.

Haha! There are some trees next to the river and the irrigation ditches. The mountains in the south part of the county have some trees too.

Kinda cool I thought. This is in the north part of the county......the wetter end.

I had a fairly productive day. Got the brakes set on the D8 cat today. Pretty easy job actually, with two people anyway. Got the parts to fix the backhoe. John Deere uses a three piece coupler under the radiator from the crank to the hyd pump. If the rubber center fails you are stuck, which is what happened. Thankfully I was at home with it. Had to pull the radiator, but it was not too bad. Also got the rebuilt front drive shaft for my 93 ford back. They put a new tube in it as the old one was bent. I could have done it myself, but I have been busy. We just got back from my folks place. It was a birthday dinner for Grandpa Richard and Richard boy. We had roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, broccoli cheese casserole with home made buns, salad and home made blue cheese dressing. Wife made a scratch chocolate cake. Everyone is full and sleepy.
