It will, it's builders they're really after. we're slippery sorts, like nailing jelly to the wall.

less if anything, though they are trying a periodic crackdown. It's a very difficult industry to control, different jobsite most days, the dividing line between landscapers with a ladder and chainsaw and "legit" tree workers is blurry at best.

No, at least not when I left 12 years ago, I don't think things have changed that much:

Not by me, just to make that clear, its the wild west as far as tree workers regulation goes here and in the UK. long may it continue.

Best to fall out with them straight away, save time and embarrassment.

I think an etymologist would have been rather confused about your questions! I saw on a David Attenborough thing about dung beetles and star navigation a few years back, mind blowing!

We have what we call swallows hirondo rustica. The similar species are called house martins Delichon urbicum. Swallows nest inside buildings, martins under the eaves outside.

According to google you do have the same swallows as us, ours overwinter in Africa.

It's about this time of year I look out for the first swallow. It's kind of a big deal for me. Here's last year's, April the 1st. (Taken on an iPhone)

Those chippers without any safety bar (from what I can see) are they still legal over there? Not an impressive outfit for sure, stupid way to take a tree down. Looks pretty hot there, even first thing in the morning. (I didn't make it to the end btw) Edit, I just watched the end, in fairness, decent fell, sharp saw. It must be gruesome to be so fat and work physically in a hot place like that.

This was a good thread, just shows that it's diffrent strokes for diffrent folks. I rarely sharpen on site anymore, pick up another saw. Do a much better job at home with a vice, good lighting and my reading glasses.
