I've used Oblan spinner pre filters for a long time, they are really good. http://www.ngclark.com.au/brands/oblan/externally-mounted-dynamic-air-precleaners-kc-series/ Donaldson make pretty good ones as well.

Chippers sell for a lot more here than the US so I don't really know what it's worth, but 166 hours isn't much use. Depending how it was used of course. Dave/DMc has had a BC600XL for years and he has no complaints about it. He would probably know what a good one is worth. For what you need it should suit you. A Bandit would be better but pretty hard to find second hand, and usually high priced. I had to hire the later model the 700XL a few months ago, bigger infeed (8") but much the same. It went pretty good on 3-5" mostly dead and pretty hard stuff. But I'd rather have a Jeep at the moment.

Yes Butch, but a lot of people don't know the British only started dumping their unwanted here after the War of Independence. A lot of crims but mostly petty, and political from Ireland. Lots of Irish made it to the US, didn't get treated too well there either but seemed to manage to survive alright.

Mine saved a mates life once. In the good old days we didn't wear helmets much, and had really great tyres. He was a bit accident prone. That's how I met him, laying in the same place two nights running. On a trip once he wanted to lead so I gave him my helmet, night time and bit wet and he didn't last long. I came around a bend and he was down sliding head first into a steel guard barrier, I missed his bike but the guy behind went bush. Took a while to find him, still sitting on his bike in a 4ft canal. Cracked the helmet, and he was out for a bit but ok. He was still around a few years ago amazingly, one of the few that were.

That's nothing compared to the boreal forest fires, and you don't have big trees there anyway.:P It is bad news though, that's going to have a lot of consequence.:(

My first time was a 75' and it wasn't cool. Neither was the second time. Then I found an operator that knew tree work, that was cool. \\:D/ Only 90ft after that. Used them for years but the work changed and no call for them now. Safety "police" would have a fit if they saw what we did then, lots of things have changed in the last few years. And. Yep.

Frost killed my chilli plants while I was away.:( Might have to make a little greenhouse for them and my cactus. Korma chicken curry tonight, with some of the now very scarce chillies.
