Wow, off topic after four posts. That must be some sort of record, thanks Mike. I know you've had a good run with yours Dave. What I really wanted to know was has anyone run one of these, seeing as I didn't get to yet. It was a fuse evidently, that's what I thought but couldn't find where it was. Got it booked for Monday so I'll see how it goes then. There was a guy using it one street away a few months ago on a big fallen tree, I was really busy here and by the time I got there he was gone but he sure put some stuff through it. Big pile of chips.

They flooded us with bacon, not too much Aussie bacon around these days. If it's not Canadian it's Danish, put a lot of people out of business.

Anyone tried on of these yet? http://www.vermeer.com.au/new-equipment-details.php?ProductID=896&CategoryID=78 My chipper is still in Sydney and I needed one yesterday so I hired on of these, unfortunatly I didn't run it before I got to the job. Started up ok but the feed roller wouldn't work, thought it was just me at first but ended up taking it back. Left there with the mecanic scratching his head. Nice little chipper though, infeed is 8", a lot better than the old 6". Be a perfect size for me here, not that I'm planning on buying a new chipper. Can't do that job till next week now so I'll have to wait and see how it goes then. Please don't turn this into a Vermeer knocking thread, we've been through that before.

I haven't seen coke for years, we used to use it once, burns hot. Didn't think we could get it now but it's possible, not cheap. $40 for 30kg/66lbs or $1.00 a Kg bulk. https://www.farmweld.com.au/blog/coke-the-fuel-for-forge-fire/

Yep, I don't think I'd do it. They can slap together down the line quite a bit, doesn't take that much at the pole. Don't ask me how I know.:/:

I've had heaps of chickens and other poultry, I liked bantams but they're a bit of trouble. Best layers are Isa Browns, they'll lay every day and don't go broody. And very quiet. Last ones I had layed for 3 years, they usually die not long after they stop laying. Bantams just keep living and eating and making a noise, but they're nice to have, unlike roosters, I can't stand roosters crowing.

I remember you talking about that before. Never liked having signs on my truck in the city, too many nut cases but when I moved it was a bit different so I got a magnetic sign for the tailgate. So when I'm just in the truck people can see it, when I want. And had one like this made up like your a frame, just stick it in the ground anywhere you like. Real estate people use them a lot, big enough to see phone number etc. Seems to be working so far.

Never done it and never will. Yep, and rip off merchants. Couple of news stories and court cases a few years ago about some locals. Lot's of trees at my old house so it was never ending, mostly I wasn't home but a few got the message. One guy even came in and I had the truck and chipper in the driveway.

Anyone know about Graeme Salt? Some people want to bring him here for a two day seminar. I think there's probably better people to look at, but I don't know anything much about him. I can't watch video's at the moment, what do you think. https://youtu.be/8Q1VnwcpW7E

Dave, your post made me think of Alfalfa. Might not be suitable for Jim but it's a good nitrogen storer. https://www.pioneer.com/home/site/us/silage-zone/alfalfa_grow/alfalfanitrogen/ Catch 22 has a good Alfalfa story.

Mine was Billy Thorpe, 1963. Wagged school to go and see them. He went to he US a few years later and did pretty well. He died a few years ago at 60, pretty fit, just died. Some fancy guitar work here. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/WrHoEx7cpDM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I think Chuck was in jail then. I did this once, only it was me in a Star Model Ford and a Mark VII Jag. No cops. Ford's didn't handle too well but they went faster, I got there first. 8) <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/zov8kEFjja4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Those guys are crims and run most of the drugs and illegal guns here, and some seem to think they're invincible but they're slowly killing each other off. Quicker the better for everyone. Strange how we can't get an extradition treaty with Lebanon, it was just do it and hop on a plane back home for a while but since Isis and Syria they've cracked down on that a bit.

Wow four days, I hope the hospital rates are a bit less than here. Infection is very bad news, dust is a real problem I've heard, be careful. Glad it went well, best of luck for next week.

If I was there I'd take all the box you could give me, it's great firewood and selling for about $200 a ton in Sydney and a bit more here if you can get it. I'm in Armidale. Got my battery charged but it's been pouring rain all day so no stump job this weekend. Couldn't jump start it because it was in the garage and couldn't get the truck close enough, won't happen again now I'm getting organised.

I'm not sure about tomorrow, it's raining here as well. Had a couple of stumps to do, went to put the grinder on the trailer, flat battery.:X Went into town and bought a charger so should be right for the morning but forecast is heavy rain and it's a Saturday afternoon only job at the hospital. Wood Collector, I forget your name if I ever knew it. That Grey Box Psyllid sure killed some trees, pity most are in low income areas. Saw a lot of big dead ones a while back that were way out of their price range, lucky they take a long time to rot. Anyone having trouble embedding videos now? I've done it hundreds of times but they seem to just be too big now, and I haven't done anything. It could be this laptop but I'm sure I've embedded them here before on it. Can't seem to find an embedded video since you fixed the other problems Evan. <div style="position:relative;height:0;padding-bottom:75.0%"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/hRX6hSGeZs4?ecver=2" width="480" height="360" frameborder="0" style="position:absolute;width:100%;height:100%;left:0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
