Paul B replied to a thread NFL playoffs in The Rec Room
I watch a couple NFL games a year, the NFC championship if the Seahawks are in it and the Superbowl. Glad I watched today, relatively benign through most of it but exciting with 5 minutes left and OT. I could care less who wins to be honest.

I read pretty much the entire article originally posted to this thread, overall interesting. Some of the info wasn't to new but I have been a fairly balanced eater as thats how it was at our house. Meat and potatoes with veggies kind of thing with a rotation of chicken, pork, beef and some fish as well as rice and noodles. Almost always we had a salad or other vegetable serving and where I grew up, you ate what you were served and liked it! Or Dad would get that stern note in his voice and you would go to bed hungry. These days we try to do the same by having a protein, vegetable and starch of some sort for dinner at least. Weekdays I have stopped the milk and cereal routine that I was back on for a couple years, it was giving me heartburn each day so now its a banana, apple or pear while driving in. Couple of ham and cheese sandwiches, boiled egg with a pinch of sea salt, mixed nuts, a yoghurt and a granola and/or a fibre bar of some sort with about 1 to 1.5 liters of water through most work days. I still love a burger and its now done to one burger meal with my little buddy per fortnight, we share the regular fries and a rootbeer, thats about the only soda he gets. We do a lot of water and juice at home and he still gets milk. Anyhoo, probably TMI, back to what you were doing!

Shared a 1.13Kg can of Chef Boyardee beef ravioli with the boy tonight, for $2 at the dollar store it was a super cost effective meal! Sorry, no pictures, that would be blasphemy. :)

Nope, no gravy just a bit of ketchup on the fries and tartar sauce on the fish. I got the warning about the site too, I ignored it and it didn't seem to be a problem. Had bacon from the butcher today, so much nicer than the run of the mill grocery store slab of fat with shards of meat if you are lucky.

Was wet the last couple weeks but yesterday as soon as I packed up all my wet gear and went home from camping the sun came out, supposed to be nice through the week. Got today off as I was planning on being out in the bush so I decided to take the little guy to school, he was grinning wide.

My kid ate raw fish sushi last week for the first time, he has had cucumber rolls, California rolls and dynamite rolls before but not the fish. Tried salmon and tuna roll, loved it. FWIW I have also taken raw steak and carved a bit off for consumption, its not that big of a deal #steaktartar

I would never consider a bottom feeder for sushi and I think the salt water fish are better protected against parasites vs lake fish but I am no ichthyologist. Around here when the lake is turning over in its thermal spring and fall the lakes get turbid and the fish taste 'muddy'. The locals know better than to eat them at that time.

Last place I worked we had GPS in every truck and the skid steer etc. Real time tracking, email warnings when speed limits exceeded, idle time exceeds 5 minutes, sudden starts / stops, printable location data trail. Its so nice when a client calls and says the crew didnt show up 2 weeks ago, 30 seconds at the computer and you can say yes, they were there 9 days ago for 41 minutes in the 1 ton and the crew consisted of tom, dick and harry, they arrived at 1:18 pm. We used Fleet complete.

Around here we get intersection 'stings', basically cops hiding behind concrete pillars etc and popping out at red lights to see if anyone is yabbering or texting. Also, if you have the keys in the ignition, you can be busted for distracted driving, even picking up your phone to look at the display can get you a ticket.
