Jomo, I'm not knocking your ideas but how you orate them and put it to words is impossible to make sense of. Slow down, be descriptive, and talk in sequence. It'll help guys like me understand you and your ideas better

I need a 200T rebuilt and modded lightly for everyday use. I've contacted all the heavy hitters including Randy here at the House. Everybody is swamped. This is going to be a gift for a close friend for letting a group of us climbers crash at his place and climb all his cool trees. I would like it back first week of June. I have another I'd like done for myself, but it can wait until whenever. We'd just like to repay my friend for the hospitality and what better for a fellow tree man? Currently, the saw runs well although the case is leaking oil from the front(bar oil), I do not expect any issues otherwise.

Chain is everything. Take a 660 and put a dull chain on it. It loses all usefulness. But take a 260 and spend a half hour on the tailgate dressing each tooth and taker to perfection and now the saw exceeds what Stihl engineered it to be capable of on average. Everyone thinks they sharpen well but truthfully I feel most don't. Some get the chains razor sharp but they cut rough as hell and cut away at the life expectancy of the saw. And while the chain is sharp, it doesn't actually walk itself through wood smoothly because the angles are junk.

I just bought and am using a 460 built by White River Chainsaws in Washington. Cylinder is milled, woods ported, and has dual port muffler. It's plain nasty. It's just a very very aggressive saw. Performs like the next engine class up. Between the professional mods and precision chain set up, this saw walks itself through the wood. With every passing year I'm seeing more and more that attention to my chains determines more then the engine of the saw. I constantly stop work and take 2 minutes to put one pass of the file on each tooth. Especially if I'm falling hardwood timber. Bore cutting is a dream when I keep my chains razor sharp with the right angles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Did my second restoration of this old mossberg 30-30. Interesting gun in that the trigger swings out with the lever. I had the bluing really good and pushed it by doing another layer and totally lost a lot of the evenness. Lesson learned. I'm currently working on a savage 24v 222 over 20 gauge. So I've fallen in love with woodworking. Been buying tools and scored a few for free. Got a drill press and this radial arm saw for free. It's old but it's hardly used and it's when Craftsman was pro-ish grade. Made the kids this shooting bench and have taken up making things in the evenings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So pretty much I have no woodworking skills whatsoever. Never built something in my adult life that I can recall. I'm just not good at it. But Courtney has been talking about a herb box to hang on the deck rail lately. So I tried my hand. It came out ok so I tried to make a matching planter box to go with it. Before anyone laughs, remember, I'm terrible at this stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Electrical tape. From ropes to repairs, you'll find a use for it. I use it a lot when I'm taking a bar and chain off a saw to put a different one on. While the bar and chain are still on, wrap it a few times like this. They'll come off and stay off together and organized. Also makes it easier to put back on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Found this and bought it from White River Saws. Cylinder milled and a woods port job. Checked a few references about their work and the word is that they're work saws hold up exceptionally well.

Well, now that the originals have been released, I so so upset I didn't read Jaimes Akimbo thread when it was posted. Usually I am the one with the newest of new because of great sites like this one and other connections throughout the treeworld. To say this is humbling is an understatement. Jaime? Jaime?

https://vimeo.com/200352127 Been working hard lately getting Copper ready to compete in his first field trial this spring. No special footage here. My hands are usually tied up but I managed this. We're working him on pigeons and chukars at the moment. The pigeon is about 15 years uphill. Just a quick clip of him honing in on the scent and locking up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Biography:
I grew up in upstate New York with full honors. I moved to Cape Cod in my sophomore yr and dropped a point trying to find friends and learn to surf. I tried a few colleges before I chose to stop, I just couldn't find what I wanted to do. After a few different jobs I started climbing for a local outfit and quickly moved up in the co. Hurricane Bob changed everything. I went to work for myself and moved to Co shortly thereafter, somewhere around '91-'92. When I came back there wasn't a co around looking for help an d I was in no position to start my own so I went to construction. After a short stint with an excellent framer I set out to be his competition. For 12 yrs I had a fantastic business. Then a few surgeries and a robbery and I gave up. I have been back at the trees full time since 2009-2010 and I am happy for the switch back. I have been climbing, albeit not full time, for over twenty yrs and cannot get enough.
