If I had been pregnant doing my 5k I surely would have miscarried. I was way out my comfort zone.

Its very low impact. The midwives basically told her not to push herself to the limits. So she took a half an hour longer than normal. There are woman that run marathons pregnant. But that's what their body is used to. You wouldn't want to do your first marathon preggers for sure.

Just finished my first 5k. Barely made it! My legs were cramping the last half mile pretty badly. It was longer than I've ever swam by at least 2k. They had the music blasting at the finish line and that was my savior. Finished in 1 hour 57 minutes. My pregnant wife did her 10k in 2 hour 58 with a 10 minute sandwich break at halfway. Feeling good and drinking beer right now.

I suppose it might be different if your ancestors for the last 400 years were taught that hard work might get you out of a good whipping, nothing more. That's a hard lesson to unlearn and it might take more than a few generations I suppose.

So it wasn't about slavery, it was about the economy... Yet slavery was the economy. Calling it cheap labor would be sugar coating it when 40-60 % of the population in the confederacy was held in violent bondage.

I agree, now where do you stand on the construction of new ones. Either stalin or the confederate regime. http://www.thedailybeast.com/texans-building-a-confederate-monument-right-now

https://www.civilwar.org/learn/primary-sources/declaration-causes-seceding-states All the states wrote down why they were breaking off. You can read there manifestos in the link. protecting their right to slavery is at the top of the list. It pretty much is all they wrote about with taxation and other things barely making a mention.

I think tearing down the monuments would be a good start for this sort of perspective. As for economic arguments I don't hear anyone ever get heated about that so it must have been a minor factor in the war back then. Long since forgotten. People are still out brawling in the streets about race and "heritage" so I can only imagine it got peoples blood boiling back then as well. Saying it is was a non issue in that war doesn't jive with all the history that went on before and after that little bitty skirmish.

Its still a rebel flag. I don't personally care what flag you fly but rebel is opposite of Patriot. I'm cool with that but you can't fly them both it seems to me or you have no clue of your heritage.

Its a trip to me how on one hand when presented with grievances from the black community over historical oppression these people are like. "That's in the past time to forget about it...move on" . but then the statues come down in an attempt to forget about it and move on and everyone goes berserk. I for one think statues and monuments should stay. More should be added to the plaques to put it into context. There is a plaque at the historic Fort Wayne here in Michigan and its like. "Here is the place where John so and so and Edgar this and that and lieutenant Herman such and such the third met on the fifth day of August 1806 and signed the peace treaty of Fort Wayne with various Indian leaders" Its so obvious that the names of these Indian leaders were not important than and they are not important now. Forgotten and maybe never even learned in the first place. So add context but don't tear them down. It also trips me out that the guys will fly the rebel flag and call themselves patriots at the same time. I don't quite get how that works. You can be a rebel or a patriot but not both as far as I can tell.

when I had my knee surged they gave me 60 pills. It was pretty painful the first night, I had one and it made me feel too stupid. I have a bottle of 59 pills still I could probably make a nice little chunk out on the corner. they are powerful little things, Im sure If I ate the whole bottle I would be under a bridge somewhere by now. They told me when I left that I could get a refill when I ran out.

    Hi Kevin, it's Mike Meredith.

Sorry - I just discovered this message today. I go by Tuebor here and over on TreeBuzz also.

I did meet you briefly at the Bartlett open house back in March. Since then I friended you on Facebook and joined the Rope Runner group. I connected with Johnny Pro when he was in town and videoed his TRT explanation. I met Jeremy and Mike a day or two later while we were climbing in a park. (Mike tried my skateboard and decided to get one for himself - but don't blame me if he cracks his skull and misses work, LOL.)

I live in Grosse Pointe Woods and took up recreation climbing last fall after meeting Bo Burke up north, in October. Love it because I'm a kid at heart. Let me know next time you have a job on the east side - I'd like to watch. I've been out of work for a while, recovering from a bout of cancer, but when I get back later this summer I'll have some tree work for you guys.

    Mike
