It really is. And when you think about it, exactly wtf are the perps thinking? Really bizarre. Back in the late 70s I was on a cross country trip with my buddy, his GF and his sister (who was very cool and hot) (ha mixed metaphors!) We were in Yellowstone which was awesome, and while walking thru thus amazing meadow came across a bunch of litter. I was all pissed about it and she says, 'you could just pick it up..' That hadn't actually occurred to me:|: and yeah, it helped take some of the sting out of seeing some dope's litter. The only thing worse than picking it up is not picking it up. I collect a lot of ocean litter/debris while SUP'g, it feels good.

So lol I had to think of big Jim on this evening's appointment- the question this girl had ( who recently moved there from a city apartment) was whether cutting a few pines would help her overly wooded back yard/lack of sunlight situation. I explained how it would of course, then she asked, "but how mean is it to cut down a healthy tree?" :? Jim can I give her your cell #, somehow I think you could handle this question the best. Be gentle. I know you will. :drink:

Littering annoys the fuck outta me too. And I would say it is part of 'broken windows' social theory- littering itself is largely harmless in and of itself but it sends a message and encourages more and greater transgressions. https://www.britannica.com/topic/broken-windows-theory

Ha, great quote! Me too, emphasis on miserable:/: So what did you say to this bloke? Jim, nasty story about the injuns. Is it more that they are assholes or more that littering just isn't an issue in their eyes, like they wouldnt care if you littered their property?

I'll get right to the point: You know how people that revile gays the most are probably gay themselves? The Chechen leader/MMA promotor Kadyrov said in a TV interview (link: https://www.mmafighting.com/2017/7/18/15995054/chechen-warlord-mma-promoter-ramzan-kadyrov-would-condone-violence-against-gays-by-relatives-russian ) that there are no gays in Chechnya and if there are, please take them to Canada. He also said, “America is not really a strong enough state for us to regard it as an enemy of Russia. We have a strong government and are a nuclear power. Even if they completely destroy our government, our nuclear missiles will launch automatically. We will turn the whole world over and screw it from behind.” I thought that was an incredibly telling choice of words for the gay hater to use:lol: Lol Russians that are obsessed with gays and denying they exist there.

You said you make cuts that 99% of arbs can't make which led us to cuts that folks make that get the job done despite possibly not using your bag of tricks. The innernet reveals that guys the world over get similar types of jobs done every day using whatever techniques they have, and that techniques which are only possessed by 1% of arbs likely don't exist.

Interesting way to put it, "carrying capacity". Perhaps similar to fire suppression efforts that can end up resulting in mega fires

Interesting. Sounds like a cousin of the Coos Bay cut. But the tree and monkeys I referenced weren't doing this cut, the tree was fair or back leaning, not head leaning. The stump looked like a war had been fought on it with all the slashing, hacking, and cutting that had been done on it.

Damn, Page! Thanks, Brian. I had the check engine light come on recently, took it to auto zone where they plugged it in and read the #5 glow plug was bad, I replaced it and the trouble light went out after a bit but the problem (weak starting) persists. Would your device help my situation I wonder?

Absolutely. But they get it done. I once watched a crew from a large, well equipped land clearing company fall this one particular tree on a residential job. Twas a large sugar maple 24"x 80', it definitely threatened the nearby house. They messed around with the box and back cut for like 10 minutes. I definitely thought I was going to see a house get squashed. They tried pushing it with the JD 540 but the hinge and weight was too much. Eventually they were able to push it over after much more f'g around. I checked out the stump later after work, damn I wish I had a camera then- you know how generally speaking the front of the hinge is supposed to point perpendicularly to the direction of fall? Well this hinge was shaped like an arrow on a traffic sign, with the point of it pointing to the lay. I have absolutely no idea how it was able to fall where they wanted it, but you know what? They got it done, with zero input from Paul Bunyan here. That's what the inter webs teaches, especially with regard to treework- there are so many different ways to skin a cat, some guys will do things exactly ass backwards from the way we would do it, but they get it done and move on to the next one.:drink:

Glad you liked it! That is the opening paragraph from a book "Voyage of the Turtle" by Carl Safina. It appears there as just regular writing in paragraph form but I thought it was amazing and poetic so I shuffled into a poetry form for the heck of it
