This is a pretty quick, fun read on hypothermia and freezing to death. Also contains interesting historical tidbits on how certain people/races deal with the cold. https://www.outsideonline.com/2152131/freezing-death

Yo, get one. They are basically indestructible. Where you live, I would think that 'getting away from it all' would be rather easy to accomplish. But whatever, getting out on the water tends to be very restorative, imo.

In calm seas, it's cake for anyone. In rougher seas it takes just a little practice. I've never sup fished but with just regular paddling, falling off is half the fun! The surf shop owner showed me his gear, I wish I had gotten a pic of his pared down essentials- milk crate with rod holders attached holds his gear and is a seat, ancient knife, small nylon zipper bag with a few lures, fish jaw holder for catch and release and for towing home keepers. Each item had a small buoy tied to it ;)

The owner of Boca Surf and Sail is a huge SUP fisherman, says he gets invites all the time to go fishing on powerboats but turns em down cuz SUP fishing is just too much fun. 8)

Its good it goes to the lowest bidder, I just can't figure why some guys would want to go so low, as in 50 -70% lower than reasonable prices. And some travel 1-2 hours one way to do it.

Ray what do you mean you swim with them? Like play with them? I figured they are capable of a burst given their huge, thick, mermaid-like tail. We flew down, beat the 12'' blizzard by 7 hours :D and rented boards from this super cool surf place, there is a real buzz there, and they gave me a banging deal of $30/day for a brandy new 11'6'' x32" wide board. The wideness was cool http://bocasurfandsail.com/surf-reports/

Wow, good to hear about the turtles, Ray, thanks for that input. Yes we were on SUPS, 2 different times. They seemed to pay zero mind to us and we tried to not encroach on them.

Ha, great vid imo. Seemed like a good blend of real and Hollywood. That shot of your PC screen while editing, looks like you're driving the damn space shuttle. Years ago I was super irresponsible all the time, now its just like part of the time  What's with the sloppy starter handle on the Stihl, that would drive me nuts. Ha, so true re proper framing of shots. Lots of folks just won't get it. Is town worker super duper cheap paying? It is here, big time. Lol safe, suspended drivers. That sounds like it could be part of a pro comedy bit! Thanks for all your work.

I just spent a week in FL, the ocean was awesome. The beach was fairly clean but there was still a good amount of plastic to pick up, which I did. Saw lots of sealife from the paddle board, including 1 sea turtle. Also manatees, lots of cool fish, rays. Some big iguanas too.

Re the OP, IME the adult squirrels will always flee if you are near the nest, then you can check for babies in the nest. If you find them, the best solution is to lower them and the nest down intact and put it out of the way for duration of the job, then put it where the tree was and mama will return soon after things quiet down to retrieve babies and take them to an alternate nest. It the nest gets blown apart accidentally, gathering the babies and nest back together and then doing the above procedure usually works very well.

Pretty cool the way it all worked out, Nick- you searching and searching, learning and learning, and then bingo. There's a saying that goes: frequently, when you really need something, it actually is already there, right under your nose.
