For me it was different, living out of contact with other people for days or weeks, after a time it made me appreciate them, longing really. Loneliness could get pretty extreme. Someone stopping by was exciting. When someone walked up the path to my house the atmosphere changed. It can make you sensitive to things that you might not be otherwise, a kind of alertness, sense moods in people, something going on when they aren't much showing it in a way that most people can tell. I think from that experience of them not being around, when they are you get the vibes that aren't diffused by other social activity. People show a lot if you can read it.

Cool vid, Cory. I lived alone in the woods in Northern California for a number of years in a small cabin, off a little stretch of narrow road called Redwood Road. I did get lonely, but also found moments of inner peace and tranquility combined with the surroundings that I have never experienced elsewhere. Those moments still live inside me. I can easily recall the sound from the little creek that flowed along the bottom of the property, I'd lay in bed and go to sleep listening to it every night. I don't know if I would like to ever go back to living isolated like that, but i can sure understand someone wanting to and not thinking beyond that. There is a feeling to be found in a place like that you won't get elsewhere. Within and without, I guess could be said and as the song goes. That fellow has got it worked out.

I have been using my Tree Austria for when I have done bucket work, which is few and far between circumstances. I will continue that trend of wearing a harness that is rated for fall arrest. I find I like being able to just leave the bucket is important to me. Often I will just use the bucket on 2/3 -3/4 of a tree and set a TIP and finish the tree on rope. But that is just me. I just feel it is faster than another set up. Might just be how th I ngs are laid out up here. Often times, moving the bucket is not a viable option due to terrain or access. Just my .02 Willie. I use one so little, I am probably the last one that even chime in.

I bet he won't survive. If left to the wild maybe. But a dead bear was recently found nearby with buck shot and a bullet in him. Human won. We usually do. Probably raiding some chickens judging by the feathers in his coat. Shot and run off to die. I was amazed him climbing as well as he did. Those rear legs are powerful.

Very good explanation vid. Got shown that quite a few years ago by a guy loading furniture into a truck, but he was Asian, not English. Pretty consistently used all over by many many guys in my part of the world. I use it when loading my truck, but usually with just a single wrap and holding it in place so it doesn't slip until the bite and cinches down. Two wraps is good like you show.

Damn Dave. I hope you feel better and better things await you. Here are some frozen trees from the freezing fog this morning. Fog had receded some and the sun came out. My job got canceled today and one of my help got sick. So I met with the clients I need to focus on and watched the guys pull logs off mine tailings. No bear sightings today though :/:

If at all possible, yes, or move into the next scheduled job if feasible. Often, I will bring my crew back to my place to help out on a project here on the property. Some dropped trees, fencing, maintenance.........

Here is a video my ground man Mike got when the sun came out after a week of cold rain up here last week. Sun finally broke through Friday. My climb rope from climbing two of these was just dripping with water from being cinched around the stems. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/iRV2sEs7MqQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
