LOL not rich, just some $ to put toward a bass boat. Selling to a local logger for 500 PHO (thats his price). Plus another saw for 200. Will see if $ shows up in 2 weeks. Told him I would hold till he got his $ together.

I think the dealer was talking loggers use every day every hour of the work week. Heck I dont know. But there is crank issues out there. I was surprised at what he said. But agree the 385 stock porting is sweet. I know the 385 I got when I was looking for a 390 2188. Came from a local tree company doing residential. Only used every now and then for big cuts. Then traded in to local husky dealer. My logger friend got it and tried using it. But he preferred his 394 and sold me the 385 to buy another 395. If you look at the newest 395's when you buy them you will notice not made in Sweden on them here in US now. Made in Brazil. Just so you know. Soon as he left my place he drove to the dealer and got it.

You guys climbing with those 16lb plus saws. My hats off to you. Little info on the 385 and then 390 so you know what to watch for. ;) I noticed folks having 390 crank issues. Husqvarna dealer from GA says Between the 385 and 390 I would pick the 385 all day every day. The timing numbers and port shapes were almost perfect from the factory because it was designed from day one to be what it was. The 390 was more of an afterthought "We have to get in the 90cc class to compete with the MS 660" so it is essentially a factory big bore and they had to compromise on the port shapes to make room for the larger piston. Also, while 1mm does not sound like much, the 390 piston is MUCH HEAVIER than the 385 piston. As a result the 390 is known for killing cranks, in as little as one year in commercial duty even with decent care and good oil.

Finally got the recall for the cutting. So I could test the 385 and 505 out. Tree I started on 32" didnt reach across last 2 cuts. Pretty wood. Was told ash but I dont know about that. 2nd tree was ash. I worked on 1st tree and after I finished mine up. Went and finished the other tree for the other guy that was cutting with 272 036. He said you cut little faster then I am used too. He was still on the small end. :P 385 stock impressed me with 32" full skip. 505 had 28" full comp and it to impressed me being on its first tanks since topend rebuild. I came to the conclusion I will be able to sell the 385 in the future soon. 505 does all I need done.

Left coast supplies must have bought them out. Had the white and the orange ti bars. Blow out prices too. I bought some last year or so and set them back till I needed them. Not much if any left at all. Most I seen toward the end was 058 3/8 or in 404 063.

Was doing some emergency work on a chainsaw Sun for a friend. So he could finish cutting before dark. Broken clutch spring. He just happen to bring something I havent shot before. 500 S&W. So that is now my biggest handgun over my 454 casull I owned. Spring had to be ordered so I pulled a clutch off one of my saws. His recoil spring was hanging up on full pull so I put a recoil from one of my saws too. I tried to fix but nothing worked. Bet you dont get that service on a Sun anywhere else. ;) Take care of those that take care of you IMO. ;) Ammo in the right 700gr. I only got to shoot the left side stuff.

Oh nooooo Mr Bill, I might have another dull or sharp chain :|:;). What does the pic say oh pic sharp expert.:P Carb rebuild time but think I am going to pull it down for a intake boot too. Cant see anything wrong with it but it is only $15 part and my time. Freaking 15F and 0 wind chill test cutting gets old and after dark worse. :big-freeze:

9 is to slow and not .5 it was in the thread I thought I posted here toward the end. With feedback of the 7 8 9. 9 little faster then 7 and 8 but not up to the faster .5 level. So you did right by passing. I use a tach to check my tuning by ear. I have had alot of guys check their tuning by ear here and have been off as way to low and some way to high even above the limits. IMO just another tool to check yourself with and keep others saws in safe range.

Thats a good tach. 20tt 20k at amicks. Whoever is buying a tach read before buying a crap slow tach that isnt .5 refresh. https://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/stickys-of-how-to-basics/chainsaw-tachometer-choices/ Even have feedback on the newer ones stihl has their name on like the 9. To slow for the money but getting better then their slower 7 8. My tach is around 10 years old now.
