No. There came a point in my life I ended up poorly and had to let it go.

I believe if you really want and need to work, most likely you will find something. May not always be want you know or want .....but. There was one time in MA during the 80s that finding work was extremely difficult for me. I had worked my way up to press operator in a factory. When the factory was purchased by an overseas company, a lot of us lost our jobs. A lot of people lost jobs back then in other areas of mfg. Robotics and computers took some of them. Automation. And there was a recession going on. Less product needed to be mfg. I took the unemployment while I looked. Buggered my toe on a lawn mower and the temp disability helped. Then they had a program to retrain me through the unemployment office after my toe healed. State paid all my wages except .50 per hour by a company willing to train me. I can't remember for how long. But obviously cheaper at min wage for the unemployment insurance and it gave me work and a new trade that paid better later. Not near what I made at the previous factory, but enough for the time coupled with a part time gig I put together for myself. Seemed a good program for the times.

That is how right to work is in AZ. Easier to find another job than get unemployment. I was able to join a plumbers union though. But the shop I worked for was non union. So it was more of a learn here thing, and maybe we can find you work later.

"Custom cutter" sounds like the name of one of those woodturning tools that Robert Sorby manufactures, that are supposed to make amateurs able to turn wood without bothering to learn the basics of the craft. Well, here we say " H?nd skovere" which translates to hand fallers, as opposed to the harvesters, that are taking away more and more of our livelyhood.

I hate working in machines. Always have. Richard loves it, so at one time we wanted to buy a forwarder, but we couldn't get enough work for it to work out. Pity, as it would have been a nice tool to have.

" Dumping trees left and right" would sound even better. So I shall call myself a faller henceforth.

Just can't win:lol: Cory, we don't use yarders, only skidders and forwarders. Does that mean I can't call myself a logger anymore.

I thought of it more of a language thing, than a throwing stones thing, but whatever. I thought the act of falling the trees, so you could yard them out, was covered under the use of "Logging"?

You are right, August. It was nice enough work compared to a lot of what I've seen. My point was that to me at least, it was nothing special, so I felt using the word "precision" was gilding the lily a bit. No big deal either way.

That is not "precision" logging, it is simply logging. None of those lays were particularly tight. Nice video, as usual.

So we had a visitor at our job site today. We were burning a ton of brush, which usually flushes out game for the raptors. In fact, this property and a couple others, they have us and the HOs pegged as food source flusher outers. I was less than 15 feet under this one. Let me walk up and walk all the way around him.

I would dig that Norton Mick. Sweet bike! Man can dream. Katy won't ride with me, so that takes some of the fun out of it. After I retire maybe for my ME time.

Old enough that I could import it without being hit with the ridiculous 180% tax on motorcycles, we have. If I wasn't saving up for a trip overseas, I'd be very tempted. Always wanted one of those. It is, to me at least, the most iconic bike.

Bike is packed up for the winter, here. I won't bring it out till end of March. Once in a while when the urge to ride gets too strong, I'll watch one of Baron Von Grumble's videos of the Swiss mountain passes. The, by now former, apprentice told me, he does the same. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/SLATfryER5k" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>
