The one I was looking at, the Giant was about the same size space in the trailer has my mini skid steer, the dingo 413, is now just heavier.

We can only sell labor currently. I am going after my LTO next month so I can permit the trees and then we are able to mill and sell the wood with out issue. About double our money in some cases. Rob charges out 50-75 per depending if he has someone pulling and stacking or not. A lot of people only want small cut lists and cringe at the hourly. The hourly is cheap by comparison of small amounts of boards. But, small amounts of boards is profitable if they are stacked and stickered, ready to roll if someone just needs a few.

I can't get that Compact Giant site to be stable enough to look at all the info on that skid steer right now but that's a good looking machine Mick. Glad to see those are still made. I thought the small units like that that people already owned were the last of their breed.

I think about using Uber/ cab for shuttling. Outsourcing the need for taking another employee and truck from job site. I like PC's idea about the motorcycle on the crane. Tough dealing with someone without a license. Cool video. What is to become of the logs?

Ours is up to 8x8, 19'6" long i believe. Height, at least 4' probably more. I think rob has done over 50" in it. I doubt I would want to run it higher than that. Posts are way taller though. It would be a comfort and stability issue. Rob is 6 foot if that gives you any idea. You can buy bigger, it's only money

Iím looking at buying a new truck that is F550/Ram 5500 size with an 11 or 12 foot chip box, L Pac tool boxes and the long pole saw box down the length of the bed. Iím looking for any strong functional reasons to go with one brand over the other. Do you have any ideas about the trucks or brands of chip boxes? (Thanks in advance, this is a lot of money for me and your experience insight and wisdom are priceless in helping me to feel good about the decision I make.)

Interesting, Obama supports Macron, Trump supports LePen. Never really had much interest in France before. It gets exciting.

Yes, I looked at these, got a price as well, delivery was too long, and it was not significantly more lift than the tractor. Hence why I started looking a bit smaller, for convenience.

We don't have the slab set up, but we can still get a slab or two out of a log. If we did more hardwoods, or redwood, it would be a consideration.

Simul posts. Google says charcoal is hotter than wood so is useful for metal related forging projects apparently
